I don't understand why the Liberty is such a hard SUV to make products for. I was watching "Truck TV" on Spike TV the other day, and for $700 they got the front bumper, grill guard, receiver hitch, and recovery points with shackles. The rear bumper was another $700, and it had the hitch, recovery points, tire carrier, jerry can, and hi-lift mount (all on a swinging arm). If BJs offroad (
www.bjsoffroad.com) can provide that for ancient fullsize jeeps, why can't a company like it provide that for new jeeps? It's just a hunk of metal for jeeps sake! The only thing that makes it "KJ" is that the places you mount it to happen to line up with a KJ, and it's about the right width. Come on!
Being part of the FSJ (Full Size Jeep) crowd for a while, I'm familiar with BJsOffroad. The thing to keep in mind is that while FSJs are old, there had 20 some years of production and there is a very large crowd that do everything from restore them to wheel them hard.
The "problem" with KJs is they've only been around a relatively short period. Add to that the fact that while the number of people here on this board may be into wheeling and modding KJs, the reality is a large number (probably the vast majority) will never get modded.
Don't get me wrong, someplace like BJs for the KJ crowd would be awesome, but to be successful, you have to have a market. I just don't think there's the volume out there to support a single company dedicated only to KJs yet.
Just my 2 cents.
