When i had the whole c/v out inspecting i could not get the 2 ft. stub shaft out of the end of the c/v. It's all rusted and very wobbly. I compared to 2 other kj's and neither were this loose. Gonna get a new stub shaft and another hub bearing. Front end should be good for another 100k.
I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm having the same problem now. We have the CV joint assembly removed, but also with the 2 foot shaft with it, and we cannot remove it from the CV assembly.

Did you ever get the shaft removed from the cv's? If so, how? We're stumped.
I know this is a little late, but I just changed my CV's and had the same problem. I pulled the entire CV and stubb shaft out together. By the time I got both of them passed the clevis, I was so P%$#ed Off':x' that I just held the stubb shaft in one hand and clobbered the CV with a 3lb maul.

It fell off after a couple of whacks.

I steel brushed the rust off, slapped grease on the splines and slathered gear oil on the shaft and reused.
