Does anybody have any experience with the Rough Country Jeep Liberty 3" Suspension Lift Kit 03-07? How does it perform/hold up? |

Ow...you are so in for it Stay away fromt that one, bad bad bad. It uses aluminium or metal spacers between the clevis and shock. UCA / coil contact is unavoidable. Unless you put on JBA arms. But then you'll have great UCA's and still a crappy lift.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't bought anything yet and am glad I haven't. I am looking for something that will handle light to moderate off roading, nothing too crazy, I don't think I can spend more then 450 or so on lift as I probably will need it to be installed somewhere and still need tires as well. Any suggestions? |

which one? the spacer? or the suspension? either way Id stay away from them both, if your wanting cheap get the Daystar 2.5" spacer with new bump stops, if you want a better ride and handling get OME HD with Ranchos all around for about $650 and you'll get about 3" lift lift |

I was looking at the daystar lift with new shocks for the rear and bumpstops. That was what I was leaning towards right now since it would give me more money for tires since the stockers suck. The Rusty's lift I am talking about is their full suspension kit at the following link. It's right at the edge of how much I can spend right now. Thanks for all the advice. Here's the link: http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=rustys&Product_Code=RK-250A-KJ&Category_Code=sus_kj_kit |

http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=rustys&Product_Code=RK-250A-KJ&Category_Code=sus_kj_kit the coils they use are the exact same spring rating as your OEM coils they only give you kift bc they are longer, whereas OME gives you lift bc they have higher spring ratings and can support a bumper and/ or winch. At first yes it is more expensive then Rustys but it wont sag nearly as bad over time, and the ride and handling will be much improved. here is what I highly recommend and several others Im sure, Id be willing to bet that most of the members on this board are running OME. Rancho RSX17004 $48-rear shocks http://www.amazon.com/Rancho-RSX17004-R ... 617&sr=8-1 Rancho SX17505 $78-front shocks http://www.amazon.com/Rancho-RSX17505-R ... 684&sr=8-1 OME Coils $72 each (last I knew and you need to call him to order them) http://www.dpgoff-road.com/site/contact.htm TeraFlex Extended Bumpstops $22 each (p/n 1903200) http://www.trailquest.com/teraflex/KJ/s ... l#bumpstop for the rear bumpstops you can use stacked hockey pucks and bolt them down. For the front clevis you just need to run to the local hardware store and buy some 2” conduit nuts. The rear isolator you can just buy from your dealer for about $15 each and the p/n is 52088707AA |

Ok cool. I'll stay away from the Rusty's then. Thanks for all the info! I am going to head up to 4 Wheel Parts on Sat to see what they have there as well. |

I bought my Daystar kit from 4 Wheel parts in Fort Worth. I installed it myself though. They seemed to be very capable. Take a look at the Daystar How-To here: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=26190 It is really pretty easy if you have much mechanical Aptitude at all. |

Awesome. I looked over the thread and I think I can do it myself, but I don't have a press or anything, just a compressor and impact wrench and 2 floor jacks so I am not entirely sure that I can do this at my house. |

you can rent spring compressors or take them to a local garage and they can break them down install the spacers for you and then just bolt them back in, very easy to do. |

I used the free loan-a-tool from AutoZone to do mine. $50 deposit for the tool, then they refund it when you return it later that day. |

Yeah the Autozone thing is what I was planning on doing, I was just concerned about the part during the install walkthrough where he used a press since I don't have one and don't know anyone with one. |

There is an easy way to do that without the press too. Here is how I did it. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... 567#394567 |
