Post subject:  MY LIFT THREAD -> Need Help Before I Order

Ok I contacted Heather @ All J's & got the lift priced & shipping quoted. Dang customs going to charge me around 8% :(

So I am undecide about Franky I Prem & Frank II Prem. There is no height difference is there? Just the about of load its rated for?
Also I plan on getting the A Arms to. So I think that is everything I need (RIMS & TIRES LATER). Do I need to order anything else for this lift? or anything I should be aware of?
I am assuming it comes with instructions & what everything should be torqued at?

Front bump stops, maybe lower ball joints, maybe tie rod ends, careful of the wire on the rear axle housing.

Wire on the rear axel housing? It think the ball joints and tie rods are all good, but front bump stops? Don't come with the kit when you buy it?

Wire is speed senser, guess it breaks in side when installing new springs in rear, would be best to disconnect hind sight being what it is.

No, they are not included. Like someone posted above, teraflex- about 20 each.

Because OME says you don't need them. But if you add the Franky (has an extra puck) I would higly recommend them. And if you fit bigger tires they prevent your fender flares from getting ripped of.

I got mine from trailquest. Really nice people.

I've been super busy the past month, and I've been hanging around a lot in the lifetime members section lol. Thanks for the welcome :) It alwayse feels like home here haha. I'm sure it will even after my libby is gone.

Yes that's the ones I have...and most of the other lifted members :D

If you call them you only have to say 'Jeep Liberty', they will probably only ask you 'bumpstops?' 8)

The rear bumpstops (Daystar) that come with the kit are ok.

BTW: what year is your KJ? You may need to extend the brake lines.

Sorry to Hijack this thread but, Hey Ridenby did you have to trim anything with 245/75/16 tires??? I plan on ordering the Frankies next week and plan on the 245/75/16 combo for the wifes '04 Liberty. Thanks for the Bump stop info everybody.
Just want to make sure they fit with no trimming.
Again sorry for highjacking the post.

May have to do some trimming / reshaping of the front bumper ( in front of the tires) Pinch weld you may or may not need to do anything.
Installed a OME/Rancho lift with 2 conduit nuts on a OHIO memebers last Saturday with 245-75-16 MTRs and Moabs only place it rubbed was the bumper in front of the left tire. Some do some don't so much

If you are not too far from the border, have it dropped shipped and clear customs yourself. There is no duty if the product is made / assembled in the U.S. or Mexico. They will charge you 7.5% if it is made outside of North America. You will have to pay the GST and PST (HST??). I bring boxing equipment in from the US all the time, some of it is made offshore. I drop ship to Sumas Washington and I only have to pay the GST and PST, no duty.

The customs clearance fees charged by brokers can easily be over 60% of the order price. I got a UPS quote for $180 for a 100lb heavy bag to ship to Vancouver from Kansas. The bag was only $170. Your Frankenlift will be around the same weight, but is going from coast to coast.

if you want to go cheaply.. all you really need is the cheap frankenlift and whatever comes with it. i know everyone swears by front bump stops but i've never had a problem and i dont have the 'teraflex ones' only whatever came with the frankenlift. i wheel the snot out of 32x10.5's and never ripped off a front fender. it comes with rear bumpstops. i (as well as many others) have been running stock a-arms.. mine has been problem free for close to 25,000 miles. the only thing i would suggest is an extra upper rear isolator.. levels out the franky nicely. you DO NOT need to replace all the ball joints, tie rod ends ect.. unless of course they are worn out and need replaced anyway. i also had no trouble with the rear speedo wire... never heard of that.

if you are on a budget buy the basic frankenlift (with the rancho's) that's all, bolt it in. you will have an outstanding lift with no problems for a long time.

confused yet? 8) but seriously.. that's my first hand experience.

I ripped my fender flare off the very first time I went offroad with it. And lost it for a few days  . My lift is BDS, not Franky, but I recommend them. They don't hurt. Also gets rid of a loud and annoying "thud" when going over speed bumps.
