does anyone know/have a picture of which wire in the wiring harness on an '06 liberty is the hot wire for the HIGH beams?

What about the REVERSE light hot wire?

i'd suggest checking with a test light or meter or consulting the 06 manual

my high beam is lightgreen/brown on left and violent/red on right

i don't have the diagrams for 06's

i've you've got a multimeter or a test light it's pretty easy to figure out though!

X2

If you remove the plug from your headlight bulb and look at it the center contact should be ground. Take you DMM or Test light and find a good chassis ground turn your lights on test one side then the other...good as gold 8)

As far as Circuit testers this is the one I have and I'll never use another. Computer and Airbag safe :!: makes finding the Reverse hot wire "So Easy A Caveman Could Do It" :D

Seems each KJ have different wires (colors) being run here and there, at least the speaker wires and radio do. Could be per model year. Do the multimeter checks.

Multimeter checks are definitely easier than trying to interpret the field service manual. Might be because I'm used to wiring diagrams that I've drawn, and theirs are like greek to me.

haha, i guess so, too bad i've only got a proximity tester, and it is so sensitive that it will pick up both hots and not give me any idea which one is the right one. if I hold it over one wire, and the other wire is hot, it will still pick up the other wire, so I won't be able to tell for sure.

Well, I borrowed a multimeter from work, and here are the results...

Passenger side
High beam wire: red w/orange stripe
low: purple with red stripe

Drivers side
High beam: green w/brown stripe
Low: Purple w/red stripe

also, hopefully this will help others, someone will have to confirm this for me.

On bottom of the blue clip that holds the bulb/wiring harness, there is a grey plastic piece that separates the wires. on both sides the low beam wire had the word RED written above it. on the Passenger side the High beam had the number 8 above it, on the drivers side the high beam had the number 6 above it (it might've been 5 can't remember, but i know it wasnt 8 ).

Perhaps this refers to the wire in the harness, I.E. pin 8 or 6?

but If someone would like to verify this for me that would be awesome.

I have no problem reading FSM wiring diagrams

if someone can get me a pdf of the 06's i can tell you what color the wire is

but i'd still suggest manual testing with a test light

Or

what you can do is pull the high beam relay or fuse and find the wire that is hot on low

put it back in, and the other wire that's hot is the high beam

does that help you figure it with your prox tool ?

I already figured it out

also, read my previous post and check yours so I can verify if this is true...

my bad! did not see that post some how

our wires are the same color

however, -IF- the stamp - for instance 8 or 6 relates to the wiring harness then the harnesses are different from the junction box

my high beams are something***** 9 from the junction and 6/3 for low with 6 being low beam 3 being daytime but that's right off the top of my head, it may be 6/5 but the highs are 9 and through the same reasoning i should have 9 stamped on my highs instead of 8

i'll look out of curiosity when it's NOT raining buckets :)

 thanks, I just happened to notice it while reinstalling the bulbs after i tested.

i looked down and saw the word red while i was fiddling around, so i looked at the other and it had it too. and they were both above the hot for the LOW beams

well ya chit chat around here long enough, and you'll either figure it out yourself, or someone will chirp in with 'just do it like this.. Duh!' that..

or get really confused, or..

All of the above all at the same time :)
