I added an OTIS unit w/ homelink to my rig.

I lucked out and got a great deal on a used OTIS unit (Thanks Steve!) so I decided to try installing it myself. The first thing I noticed after picking it up was that the switch for the sun roof was different than the one in my rig.

So after doing some measuring and investigating of the two units I decided to see if I could modify the OTIS to accept my switch. Not quite as clean of a cut job as the pros, but I think it should work.

After fishing some wire through the head liner and down the A-pillar I attached the wires to the OTIS, cut a big hole in the head liner and mounted the OTIS unit.

Found the wires I needed to hook the other ends to the KJ and turned on the Jeep...... SUCCESS!!

All I got left to do to it is pick up an Ambient Temperature Sensor, plug it in and I'll be done!

nice install
curious : were the wires for the homelink already in the kj or did you have to run them ??

thinking of doing the same thing to mine so i'm wondering about the wiring ??
what all did you have to hook to to make the homelink work ??

thanks

Homelink is built in. No need to run wires for homelink...You just run the 4 wires down the a-piller!

Thanks, I'll pick up the Temp sensor tomorrow and put it in so I have the temperature working too.

One of the feature I like about the OTIS is the instant gas MPG. It helps you learn to drive lightly on the skinny pedal.
