I want to add that I was very lucky: Besides being able to walk away from it, It helped that the next closest vehicle behind me was a volunteer ambulance returning to its home base from the hospital. It moved into a protective position preventing rush hour traffic from hitting me.
The cabin held up well, the damage was mostly to the front end. The oil pan cracked open, it was a pretty good hit.
The little beast saved me.[/quote]

Kudo's for the little Beast. Glad all is well RT. Hope to hear you're back in the saddle soon!!

Sam, I would love to but my lady will not permit the wreckage to be left in the driveway and unlike you, I have no other place to store it.

For sure the motor would need a new head gasket and a new pan, not sure about any other damage.

Is any of those yours? The locations look all wrong, there are only 3 listed - Michigan, Missouri and Colorado.

No, I did a search on copart and posted the results for Mikmaze who is searching for motors.

well shoot me a price on the motor, I think the pan and cover are the only two parts left that aren't bad on the one my buddy needs a motor for.

I didn't buy it back so I can't offer you the motor.

But it will be offered on Copart in Connecticut location 023 .... the front end hit a concrete divider that bent back the water pump frame, viscous fan, cracking the oil pan and whatever else, it was a hard impact.

Holy Fudge! Glad to hear you are OK.

racertracer wrote:
Well my CRD is totaled, a strap from a semi tractor trailer that was holding a heavy 41' roll of cargo tarp let go, dropping it onto the pavement in rush hour traffic.

It caused front end damage to 4 cars and totaled mine.

I hit the tarp first before the others and it sent the CRD flying in the air for about 15 feet landing hard on two wheels, I managed to get it back on all four but it wasn't enough to stop the momentum. I continued to spin around on the pavement 4 times, finally coming to a hard stop when i hit the center divider head on.

All the lanes on I95 were packed with rush hour traffic all traveling at approx. 65mph and by the grace of God I didn't hurt anyone or cause damage to another vehicle.

The state trooper said the truck carrying the tarp was long gone and could not be located.

I am happy to be alive with only a fractured right wrist, skin burns on my left, brusing I will be feeling tomorrow and a really bad sore knee.

And so the saga ends.

Wow, glad you are okay, was it the airbag that caused your injuries? Guess it kept it from being worse though. I hope you are able to find another CRD, too bad you couldn't have gotten that ECM from your old one because they probably wouldn't have known or cared but you were in no shape to do that. I am considering getting rid of mine if you are interested, just needs new tires and soon will need timing belt but other than that it has been great.

Thank you all for your well wishes, I am truly humbled.

i am healing well and I never thought that I would have experienced more pain after the accident than when the accident first happened. It's debilitating and now sympathize with crash survivors that complain of aches and pain weeks after an accident.

I didn't take pictures, I didn't have time and my belongings are with me so I have no reason to go see the carnage except to snap a few shots and possibly remove some important parts like the Hot Tuned ECM, PreF37 TCM and the P1 Battery.

As for a replacement CRD, all I can say is that I am seriously considering the option and have begun looking. I do like the red one that is posted on the board.

I am just waiting for my insurance to settle with me first.

The little beast saved me.

It blows my mind how tough these Liberty Jeeps are. Your Jeep did its job, which was protecting you. Yeah, you may have a hurt hand and hurt like crap but it could have been worse. I'm so glad to hear you are okay.

I was rear ended hard March 16 and it messed me up for a few days. I still have aches and pains. I was going 10-15mph and the guy who hit me was doing 45-50mph. Totaled his truck but only bent up my tailgate and knocked it out of alignment.

Take it easy and don't rush to find another CRD. It will come to you. Hope dealing with the insurance goes smoothly. I give you well wishes and prayers that you get to feeling better.
