I can get a 2003 Limited KJ in decent running shape with the same transfercase as mine (selectrac) for a six or eight hundred bucks. Recently spent time at the stealership and apparently i need a new abs module. Will the one out of the 2003 3.7 work in my 2006 KJ Limited CRD; asking cause they quoted me around 500 for a used and 1000 for a new module? I know ill probably have to take it to get re-programmed or what have you anyways....

Search ebay.
Lots of used ABS modules for a lot less.
You will propably also find one that came out of a CRD which will take all the guess work out of it.

I'd like to know why the stealership thinks you need a new one.

I agree with Mike...why does the Dealer think you need a new module?
Could be a bad/dirty wheel sensor.

I believe that the module would have to be programmed to know which vehicle it is in...I was involved in a long post with an English owner who could only get a brand new ABS module to work after the new one was re-programmed. :?

They checked the sensors and wiring to them. From what i understand the module isn't communicating/able to communicate. And its intermittent. Sometimes it'll respond to them sometimes it wont. When it did respond they saw a whole bunch of codes i guess. Sometimes the lights come on right after i start it, other times its 10 minutes down the road. And the only lights that come on are the ESP/BAS light and the traction control off light (but never the brake light). I still have abs brakes, but no traction control.

The main reason I am really looking into this is because it wont come out of park. I have manually disconnected the solenoid that keeps it in park until the brakepedal is pushed until i can afford a new abs module. And, yes, i have replaced the brake switch at least 6 times.
