I have not done the GDE transmission tune yet. Also, although i have the GDE hot tune, i did not notice until after i left home that the shop must have disabled the tune somehoe (battery disconnected perhaps?). Therefore, when i get home and reinstall the hot tune i will be curious to see if it makes the temp issue better or worse. I do miss the added power.
I have also not done anything yet to open up the exhaust. Any suggestions on exhaust?
I believe superior makes a 4.88 ring and pinion and wonder if the slightly higher rpms for the same mph would improve engine efficiency and reduce heat, although transmission has not been shifting down and vehicle has not lost speed even on steep grades.
http://www.superioraxlegear.com/c825488 ... 10605.htmlI have not noticed the fan kick on, but i also frwaked out when the temp gauge started climbing like a speeometer - turned off the a/c, slowed down, and even turned the heater on full blast for one long steep grade. I pulled some normal grades today at 70+ mph, transmission stayed in top gear, a/c on, and gauge spiked only to 3/4. Of course ambient temp is only about 80 to 85 F here in mountains - not like the 100+ in southern utah where i live.
I have not changed out the temp gauge. My liberty did come from factory with tow package. Suncoast torque converter and transgo kit installed.
So far, after reading the threads that everyone linked to, i am inclined to first, get an alignment, and second, install the hayden fan.
