Issue with mounting 245/75/R16's

that is some mud.. looks like my neighbors driveway.. i should take a pic of it.. hie goes thru it everyday.. but anyways.. do you have a rear hitch? you might want to invest in a portable winch system that slides into the receiver. thats what i am going to do.. i just bought the front receiver so i can put it in the front or rear depending on how i need it.. if i need it *knock on wood*

well, no....i have NO recovery points...so a rear tow hook, and probably front ones too, are going to be my next investement when i can dig up the money...but just for $#!Ts and giggles, here's what the KJs looked like after we got them out...

Oh, also keep in mind that the handle-high water at the entrace to this place did a pretty good job cleaning quite a bit of mud off even BEFORE i took these pics...

I would suggest a rear hitch receiver and shackle. More versatile and you can tow things. It's about double the cost of a rear tow hook unless you buy one used. I am STILL in the process of getting my packaged and shipping ready for one member. Darn my lazy behind.

Yea, the rear hitch worked great for getting me out. I got rutted so the hummer had no luck pulling me out. So then i was stuck with the painfull decission of keep trying with the hummer and try to dig my Jeep out without the tow truck, or have the truck winch me out right then and there. I made $250 choice, that rustys exhaust is gunna have to wait, but to get me out i flipped my ball receiver arm over to make a hook so the tow truck could lift my Jepp up and out f the muddy trap. It worked great, but i think ill get a shackel.

Wow....yeah the lesson here is...NEVER listen to your NON-Jeep driving buddies...its not their Jeep...glad you got it out before the mud dried into concrete....you'd be looking for some jack-hammers to get it out :shock:

The MT/Rs aren't spectacular in mud from what I have seen.

Yeah, not to mention, i just dropped a total of about $650.00 to get these tires and have them mounted...lol

I have the exact same size tires, mounted on Moabs. The guys at SEARS told me that they eventually got 4 on, but couldn't get the fifth one on. Something about the fact that the sidewalls are too thick. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact it was quitting time.....

Anyway, took it back the next day, and talked to the manager. He couldn't get it on, neither could the other two techs. It took three men to get it mounted, but they eventually did. the problem was that the equipment they had couldnt get enough air in quickly enough. But they did eventually get it (thank goodness)

Tires look great

if you look at tire racks reviews. there are quite a few guys that have had problems with the Grabbers...from not staying balanced, to not being mountable to being bald after 20K miles....those are in conjunction with stellar reviews on the same tire....so some you win, others you don't...that said I love the look of those. Now....tell us!!!! did you take your rig back to that ninny at Goodyear to show how a real tire center mounts tires? I gotta hear that discussion once you show her that they fit, are balanced and look badass!!! In fact walk in with a pocket recorder to tape her stupified conversation....just let her know she should be pushing a rolling pin and not someones tires. LOL
