Ok I'm going to stop jacking 17" threads and submit my own!
Heres the facts:
02 Liberty Sport 2WD
05 Lmitied 17" wheels
Spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers
Rusty's front springs
Rancho front shocks
front 2-ring clevis
Daystar rear spacers
Skyjacker rear shocks
Currently has 245/65/17 BFG Rugged trails
Looking for something beefier and a little more capable, but without sacrificing much road manners. No MT's, nothing more aggressive than a BFG AT.
In order to preserve the jeeps on road performance and MPG I don't want to go too big, I've heard 32"+ is a no-go for this.
I'm thinking a 255/70 General Grabber AT2. 255/70 would be 31.1" total diameter if I'm right. The 255 instead of 245 for a little more footprint, and I think 245/75 would be too much. Also these tires are white lettered in 245 but blackwall in 255, which I'd prefer.
I am welcome to all suggestions, let me know soon. I plan to buy within days. Looking CHEAP. very cheap. =)
Also, nothing load range E, this sadly disqualifies re-treads, even though only an aggressive one is available.
Your asking for a tire that does not exist. You will lose mpg's with a 31" tire,no way around that, the wider you go the more you lose also since friction comes into play(wider=more friction=less mpg's).BFG's are $$$$,anything similar will not be much cheaper.Your most likely going to be stuck with a load range "E" or go with a street tread tire that is "P" rated.
