I'm betting you've just seen a similar photo before. Hey, this may be a trivia question some day.....
It is Jenkins Mountain just West of the Continental Divide by Church Basin in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness in Colorado. Just another Colorado 13er in mid-September. This was taken back in 2005 during one of my (at least annually) solo backpacking trips.

Absolutely beautiful area and time of year - golden aspen, elk bugling all around, crisp evenings, rain and light snow up high at night, warm sunshiny days and not a soul around. This trip was a wonderful highlight to a year that had some pretty rough personal times. I tend to like to go off-trail (when backpacking) to really get out in the middle of nowhere, so if you find this valley on a topo map, you'll see there aren't any trails after heading East of trail 543 toward the lake shown just North of Jenkins Mountain.
By the way, that lake isn't there anymore (which has happened to me on multiple occassions when I bushwhack cross-country to go find some lake). I had planned to camp by it. Over enough time, many of these high country lakes, especially if they're not very deep and/or don't have a fairly steady amount of year-long run-off running into and out of them, can get filled up with enough silt to eventually turn first into a boggy area and then into a really flat meadow with a really slowly meandoring run-off steam snaking through it.
