When I was driving to the in laws last night and parked the CRD for a bit I noticed quite a bit of smoke when I pulled back out, but didnt think much of it.

Now i look at it this morning and its leaking oil which looks like its coming from the back of the Factory CCV and dripping down the back of the block and a bit on the exhaust manifold. Anyone know if theres something I can take a look at ? Or is it easy enough that I can just replace it myself?

I pulled the CCV off this morning and looks like its been leaking for a while. But I did find that the O-Ring is bad, its knicked pretty bad, probably from when the tech put it on.

Looks like DC owes me a new CCV. This will be CCV #3

Man those O rings list for about $3.50 each and are not a standard size.

LOL.. 3.50 each.
Ill let the dealer replace them, that way its free.
Most likely they wont have them anyways, so theyll have to order them and keep the crd overnite. At least my warranty says I get a first day rental.

Where do you see them listed for 3.50? I tried searching every parts store I know and had no luck.

At the dealer, where else. As I said they are not a standard size so you will find them only at dealer.

Well I took it to the dealer yesterday.
At my last EGR/CCV/Intercooler replacement I asked the tec about a Open CCV as a possible solution to these continual replacements. He agreed it might be a good idea, and he would like to see the CRD in a few months to see how the intake was. And if it was clear he would have some ammo to take back to DC. I asked the tec if its just as simple as connecting a hose to the ccv and letting it hang(I allready knew it was from reading here) he said yes, showed me the ccv and even said when you bring the CRD in tomorrow I will take a look at it and make sure its ok. Well I did the open ccv and when I brought it in the next day he said I did a great job, and as long as you come here for service dont worry about returning it to stock.

So, a month later I bring it back for the CCV oil leak(Only because he had replaced the ccv when my last egr was replaced) just to make sure thats exactly where its coming from, I was pretty darn sure it was from the o-ring on the ccv but just wanted to cover my bases. I advised the dealer to have the tec call me before he starts working on it so i could explain what i saw, but he never called. He looks at the oil leak and calls STAR, and tells them it has a open ccv and STAR stated, give the car back to the customer and tell him to return it to stock before you work on the oil leak. So I pick the car up and he tells me all this, and i was just amazed! I told him its just a darn o-ring! He just got a dumb look on his face, And he then said, well if you would have told me about that I would have just ordered it. So, I walked away from him, past the Service writer and right to the parts dept and ordered the part myself. Parts guy was amazed that the tec didnt just order it. Service writer asked if i talked to the tec and said, Yea, we had a nice talk. Grabbed my keys, didnt sign a reciept and walked away...

I was so mad I didnt even know what to say to the tec.
Sorry for the long post just gotta vent a bit. Wish I didnt live in a condo or Id start doing all the work my self on this beast.
