Hot morning in Michigan, lead to Hotter rear brakes.

The Right Rear caliper started to hang this morning.
Luckly, I was able to roll of the highway to a nearby Jeep Stealer.

They just called, yep caliper is bad. But are going to hit me with a $79.00
Fee, because I stated the front started to vibrate at the same time.

The $79 was to turn the Front rotors
It was that or $49.00 fee for looking at the front rotors and saying they are warped

Thats why thier called Stealers

Refuse to pay it. If you did not authorize the repair then don't pay. I've done it before. They will argue with you but they will realize they are wrong and just let it go. Your problem was the caliber seized not warped rotors. You can have just lived with warped rotors if you wanted to.

I tried that, but since I mensioned the front vibebrated, they "diagnosed it" as well.

So it was either the diagnostic charge or the job charge.

They did call after lunch and told me that " Since the caliper caused the pads execcive wear, they would put a new set on of no charge.

Ohh JOY , Free Break PADS!!!!

Wouldn't the caliper that cause excess wear on the brake pads then in turn have caused the rotaors to go out as well?

The rear brakes were the ones that locked up, the fronts were warped. I wonder whats going on with the rear calipers? Ive heard this a few times now.

My driverside rear went South at around 15,000 mi., and there was a backorder on them at the time. So it's evident there's a problem with calipers.
