Has anyboy with a aftermarket exhaust had there dealer complain when they brought there CRD in for service?

I want a new exhaust on my Libery cause it sounds kind of wimpy but I am kind of afraid what dc will say at my next scheduled EGR replacement.

Man I would bet about 50% of the diesel PU's have modified exhaust. If all you do is put on a free flow muffler then the odds are they will never notice or say anything, but the they may raise an eyebrow if you have a big 3" or 4" pipe sticking out the back thinking that you are chipped also.

Well, Im going to take the plunge. Stopped by the exhaust shop today and decided on a glass pack. It should be done by tomorrow afternoon. The shop had never even seen a CRD before and are kind of excited how it would turn out.
I should be able to get a small sound clip.

There should be little difference in sound.

Danno, who's doing the work and what's the cost? I've been planning on doing the same thing - just havn't got around to doing it. I'm in Bartlett not far from you.

No say it aint so! I was hoping it be loud enough tick off the neighbors at the condo building. They actually wanted to just do a straight pipe, but I wanted at least some type of muffler on there. Another thing that they pointed out, before knowing it was a diesel was to turn the glasspack around? Any point in that?

Bagger, Im going to Merlins in Prospect heights. They seem pretty knowledgeable, Ill fill you in when there done.

I ran a straight exhaust for awhile. There's not much difference in the volume.

ORM, air filter mod, and less restrictive exhaust has increased my 'everyday' driving 3 mpg.

Oh the joy of condo living. I owned a condo in Arlington Hts a few years ago. About everthing I did got me as nastygram from the board. Changed a set of brake rotors in my private garage. You guessed it, complaint filed.

Thankful to now be an EX-CRD owner.

If you read thru the warranty paperwork, it only covers back to and including the catalytic converter. Any piping and/or components downstream of that aren't even mentioned, ie, outside of the warranty. I know, I checked before installing my Aeroturbine.

If the dealer tries to give you any grief, I'd suggest the three following items - 1. Laugh in his face 2. Tell him to read the blasted warranty 3. Find yourself another dealer that has a clue.

Well just got it back, and not much of a sound diff. Does have a more throaty sound to it at throaty sound to it at High RPMS and WOT. Turbo does spool up a bit faster and it does and a noticable amount of power. Oh, a bit more smoke to.
All in all I feel like they did a pretty good job, for 120 bucks.
