What is the maximum trailer weight a Liberty can tow? I have a 2003 Sport 3.7L V6 4x4 with an auto-trans. My brother in law has a camper that's 3000lbs. Can it handle that?

Depends on the type of terrain in the area. Sure it can tow it fine, but it may get alittle slow on the hills. In my area I wouldnt go much over that b/c of the mountains, but if you have small hills it will do just fine. The crd would throw that thing everywhere, tons of torque. The limit for your jeep is 5000lbs. Its also nice to have the towing pack b/c it comes with an extra engine driven fan and helps alot in slow traffic.

Be sure to keep O/D off unless its flat, any hills and it will kick into 3rd.

If the trailer has electric brakes, be sure to get a brake controller in the KJ. Going's easy, now the stopping....
