While its not serious I can sure feel the 31" 10.5 over rough terrain. I can imagine the wear and tear on the Rack&Pinion. I was wondering if there are any ways to smooth it out.

Just Wondering

No. Wonder if it has been addressed on any of the other R&P steered IFS vehicles over the years?

I still can not find the artical on the ranger but I kind of remember how it was done
he made a bracket that attched to each sid of the R&P then another bracket that attched to the front crossmember and used 1 on each side making 2 stabilizers
looked ok did it work ? I dont know but it looked like the truck was more for show

thinking about the added stress that would put on the R&P I would not do it

This forum is for the KJ's with 4WD. Did you mean ring and pinion? Correct me if I'm wrong but only 2wd trucks/cars have a rack and pinion.

The KJ does have Rack and pinion steering.

http://www.jeep.com/liberty/4wd_capability.html

Its pretty simple but here is what wikipedia says about rack and pinion steering. The KJ couldnt very much from the general idea of R&P steering but if it does someone will probably let us know.

bloody great question. The KJ is in bad need of a steering damper I say. Also run 245/75/16 MTR's on 8" rims and offroad you can cirtainly feel the punishing that the steering cops. It would be great if someone came up with a bolt on kit. It sure needs it imo.
