Just wondering....
Is there anybody here that already has a Commander?
Am I going to be the first one?
Might be getting it Saturday - depends on the dealer and what I can get in financing and trade in value for the VW
cross fingers :)

I almost got a Commander after my accident in my 1st KJ....they were having some super deals on them down here in Memphis since they aren't going off the lot that great (or at least until they started the deals, b/c now i see them everywhere) Very smooth ride, never felt a bump too, the dealer where I got my new KJ had a lifted one with a Defender Roof Basket or some huge roof basket that covered the whole roof with 4 PIAA lights on the front of it along with a bull bar with another 2 lamps on it....It was sweet looking....made me think of it being decent competition with the Land Rover perhaps...even though the Commander has more seating and space...

My dad has a commander and trust me, you don't want to be stuck sitting in one of those 3rd row seats for anymore than 10 minutes, unless your a midget!

But when you fold down the 3rd row seats and crank up the rear ac, it comes in handy when your at the grocerystore and don't want the ice cream to melt!

I know its not a commander but we used to have an '03 Navigator and the 3rd row seats were terrible in there... I'm 6'2" and I had to sit back there on a few occasions - as mlr said, unless your a midget you won't have any fun sitting in the 3rd row

Ditto except in a '01 Durango and I'm only 5'8"!

3rd row seat usually applies for kids
Lat time I had 5 kids - nephews/nices - on the KJ + my wife and we had to stick them to the back seat - 4 of them - and the last one on the cargo space - not safe... :) -
Just having that option it makes it worth it. IMO

I have been doing a lot of research, but cannot get Tricia past the jeep badge... other than that she loves it, and would gladly get it to trade in her Malibu Maxx... (they are within a couple inches of the same length and width) But she saw me drooling over pictures of the lifted already Commanders  So she knows better than to get another Jeep for me to modify.... For some reason she won't believe me that I will leave it alone  8)

Can you blame her? :)
that is why one of the reasons I'm looking for a Offroad package commander - at least it is already somewhat ready for the trails. :) -

I like this one:

The stocker leaves me cold. Resembles a refrigerator box on wheels.
