With the 0% for 60 months deal, what kind of bargaining room do I have on a 2006 Liberty CRD?

There is also a 'hidden' or undeclared rebate to the dealers from the factory of $3000. So you should negotiate about $500 to $700 below invoice first, then go after the dealer incentive. Maybe end up a good $4500 off of MSRP?

If financing through your own bank, add an additional $2000 savings (I think) in consumer cash.

I got a cool $5000 off my 06 Limited CRD in May. MSRP was $28,400. I paid $23,400 cash and no trade plus tax and title. It's a basic Limited and was what I wanted. The Atlantic Blue Pearl really looks good with the chrome plated grill and side moldings. It only had 9 miles on it when I drove it home.

Roughly the same deal on mine.

My dealing technique: First I read the book "Don't Get Taken Every Time" Read it again taking notes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BT ... s&v=glance

I go in with my checkbook in hand and tell them I'm writing a check TODAY, I will pay $xx out the door. I have my financing in place before I walk in the dealer's door so I can do this. Do give them a chance to present all options but stick to the amount you want to pay. Sometimes you need to finance with them to get some of the cash back.

My buying experience was simple. I purchased the Jeep through Jeepwarehouse.com. They sell at employee pricing plus all rebates. I didn't have to wheel and deal.

Howdy! :D Been reading for a while, but just joined so I can post.

I'm considering buying a CRD liberty, but didn't quite know how to negociate on it. For those of you guys who have mentioned the "hidden" rebate to dealers, is that something they get on every CRD they sell, or is it something they got if they were the dealer it was delivered to? I am working with a dealer right now to get a CRD from another dealership.

Also, I work for a company that allowed me to get a sub-dealer cost price, but after reading some of your deals, I may have to try to get them to sharpen their pencil a little.

I think they all get it but most won't tell you and t is hard to figure out what it is at any given time. I test drove a CRD last August or September at the local dealer after a Liberty gasser friend told me about it. He is a real Mopar guy so I was a little skeptical although I liked my daughters old Cherokee. I liked the CRD but wasn't ready to buy then and they only had a white Sport or a red Limited, neither of which I cared for. Several months later, November, I was thinking that maybe
I needed a change before winter so I shopped the Jeep site for one that I liked and found one at the next nearest dealer. For the heck of it I asked for an Internet deal on it and got a pretty good price, lower than what I expected. I wanted a factory hitch though and it had some other options that didn't appeal to me. In the meantime I linked into my local dealer through the NADA site rather than the Jeep site and there were about 5 CRD's listed. I called may salesman and he told me that it was an eror and they only had the white Sport. When he found out that I was looking at a rig from another dealer he told me he would get a dealer trade that would meet my needs and match the discount. He told me that the other guy had basically given me invoice, rebats and about $1000 of "dealer hold back" I believe he termed it. It took a while to find the one I would take, in fact he gave up and I found it on my own about 300 miles away.

Just as a note, my dealer has been very good although sometime stumped but the CRD always they have been willing to learn with me. They have been in business in the community for decades and although the also own a Saturn dealership in another part of town they are just Jeep. The salesman told me that if they don't sell them they don't get them and since they only have Jeeps to sell they have to move Jeeps. He told me that D/C tracks sales by Zip as well and dealers who have other dealers selling in on top of them by other dealers are not looked well upon by D/C. Could be hog wash but I got a very competitive deal I think.

Roughly the same prices I got on my CRD back in December with the Miles to Freedom plan no less. I guess it wouldn't hurt to mention that I bought the Jeep from a dealership that I had previously worked as a sales manager at :D

So $28650 out the door is too much for an '06 limited loaded up (incliuding 7% tax & 4 year tags), even though the supply of new ones seems to be drying up. Luke

No prob...like you said though the new ones are running out...look on ebay I remember when I was looking seeing several CRDs for 22 brand new but they were not loaded.

Like I said my sticker was 30,400 and I got mine for 23,900...it is a limited with sunroof and all that garb...honestly I just got the best deal I could find in terms of how much money off the sticker price.

I would still say that is too much...but I do encourage you to buy a new CRD as I am really enjoying mine, and the sooner the better becuase soon they will be gone. Check Autotrader in your area and Ebay...call around dealerships. Hope ya find one!
