I am originally from Powell, Wy. Town of about 7000 people. Lots of two lane driving. Anyway, one's hand would get tired from all the waving you'd do when people are driving by. Just a way of life. Kind of nice. Now that I live in Sioux City, IA where they'd rather flip you off as they run you over. I've seen a change that's been two months in the making. I make a point to wave at every Liberty I see. At first no one would wave back. Now, though people are starting to wave back. Everyone I know thinks I am crazy. I just tell them it's Liberty thing, you wouldn't understand!

The last time I waved at another KJ there were two guys in the KJ. I was surprised that they waved untill I realized it wasn't a "Jeep" wave it was a "you're cute and I'm interested" wave I have yet to wave at another KJ since. I know I shouldn't be that way but my friends still haven't stopped laughing at me

totally unrelated but today was like the best day of my kj-owning life...I come out of Staples and I see this couple standing by the KJ looking at the driver side (I was on the other side so had no idea what they were looking at). My first thoughts were, "great! somebody backed into my driver side and these people find it pretty amusing!" but immidiately they said how good my truck looks like and how the y have a limited KJ and want to get it all hooked up like mine....I was like "wooooooaaaaaa....after all the years of KJ being made fun of and nobody noticing anything I did for her, here is a nice couple who understand me!!!"
anyways, I told them about LOST and how they SHOULD join and if they see this i wanna say welcome to them.....welcome the nice couple (unfortunatly I forgot their names.... :x )

See this link: The Jeep Wave. I try to wave at every Jeep I see (particularly KJs) even if I think it won't get returned.

I wont wave to KJs unless they are modified or have some indication of jeep pride.

When I sit amidst four KJs lined up at a light and they are all people who wont respond me waving or looking at them, it tends to break up the respect given to KJ drivers in general.

I don't know about the rest of you guys; but in Michigan around the detroit area, you cant throw a rock without hitting a KJ. Seriously, at least 3 at every single intersection you stop at. Half of them are driven by 65+ yr old women who shudder if you wave at them too.

Its really just depressing. If you dont respect your jeep than dont buy one, I would rather the company go under than see more of these people who dont even know what a jeep is, driving them.

Maybe I am too judgemental, but I worked long and hard to get my KJ; and I am dang proud of it. I'll be darned if I am going to acknowledge people who just drive them to carry more groceries.

This is not aimed towards anyone here since you all obviously love your KJs. Nor is it a poke at the non modded KJs out there. Its a SLAM against prideless jeepers.

When I had my Libby, I hardly ever had anyone wave at me when it was stock and had a few wave when I lifted it. Now that I have my TJ, I get waved at by just about every TJ that drives by. I also make it a point to wave at Libbys that are modified too :) I remember it being frustrating that no one would ever wave back at me and kinda make ya feel stupid hehe

Wow, that is some deep sh*%. I don't have a problem with others driving the Liberty, in fact the more the merrier. I myself wave at lifted Liberties or modified in other means. I can pick out the stock libs and I don't think those folks understand the pride after being lifted or modified. However, I really don't care what someone drives if they just want to get around.

I love the hooks on the rear seats for Groceries!!!!!!

Am I the only one that went through the website and added it all up to see what score I got?

BTW, I got a 33 if my Lab and my niece (she lives with us, so she counts) are in the Jeep with me.

I have to add to this one.
Down here in south florida you never run into moded KJ's and rarely a CRD but there are plenty of grocery getters. You see more ferraris then hyped up jeeps! But I still try to wave even after all these years just hoping I would get a normal response. Times must slowly be a changing because i finally got a one.
The other day I waved at a CRD just like mine, minus the Rubi MTR's and they waved back and honked. Went a couple of blocks and I see this guy haulin to try and catch me. My first thought was he thought I flipped him off and he's got a gun! After all, this is South Fl....
He pulls next to me and darn if he wasnt so darn excited to find another CRD just like his! We both pull over and kabitz about our jeeps for about an hour! Gave him all the info about LOST!
You got to understand down here, this is a major rarity!

I'm really feeling the lack of KJ love lately, even before the *shudder* Wave. My girlfriend has been driving my KJ lately since she takes our son to school. This leaves me with her GMC Pos. I rarely get waved at or at the very least even a glance when sitting at a stoplight, when I get to drive my KJ. She on the other hand says lots of people wave at her when she's driving it. She since has had the guy at the gas station she always stops at telling her how much he likes the Jeep. I go into the gas station and that guy looks at me and goes, "Man your girlfriend has an awesome looking Liberty." Then when I meet one of her brothers friends he remembers which sister I was dating and proceedes to say... " Oh yea Lisa has the green Jeep right?" I have been so frustrated about that the last few days I'm about to blow the GMC up so I can have my KJ back.

Get a sex change. Do you really think it is the KJ? It's because she is a woman. Even if you looked like Phyllis Diller, you'd get more waves as a woman than as a guy. Image
