Ok .... so my 05 has 17,000 on it and I've been rotating tires every 6k miles and changing oil & filter every 3K miles.

So when do you all recommend I take it to DC for the first time?

I had planned to take it in at 30K .....?

Ken

nothing really special due at 17k just the normal LOF, and rotate if it's needed. At 24k you should service the tranny. and then at 30k there is about a 600 dollar list, 4wd service, tune, rotate and balance, fuel injection service, and a couple other things. Just get your service schedule out and check it out it outlines all the service schedules.

Thanks for the reply Parakeet.

Lube? What should be lubed?

I know my Cherokee has lube points, but I didn't know the KJ has them as well.

Where are they?

Ken

If you are on schedule B have you changed your diff fluid? Schedule says every 12,000 miles

No.

I would change the diff fluid every 12k-15k if you tow or offroad. I changed mine at 12k and it looked great, not dirty at all. If you tow then change the tranny at 24k. If not then Id wait till 30k to change the tcase, tranny, and front and rear axles(only if you changed them once before). Dont wait till 30k to change the diffs!! At least do those at 24k if its the first time on those, then again later on past 30k. Its really what you want+what you can afford. If you cannot pay to have the diffs done now then wait till 24k on those, then do evenything else at 30k.
