Hey guys.. I am looking in the future (when I get my $$ from the military) at getting a front mount hitch so I can put a winch on the front for this winter... Where can I get a good one at a decent price? Any pointers before getting one?
Thanks!
Jason

All the big outfits have them, I'm willing to bet your local hitch shop and local 4 X 4 shop can also get them. Haven't really seen much difference in prices, unless your lucky and find a sale going on.

good luck those are scarce items for the KJ. The only vendor that I know of is www.boulderbars.com and then click on the liberty link.

Scroll about halfway down the page.

Call to verify.

same deal there. basically the reese and the draw tite have merged as a company. They STILL DONT MAKE the front hitch for a KJ any longer, I have been down this raod numerous times. You are only going to find one one e-bay or someone he is selling it privately. Heather from ALL-J has been scouring the net and bought all of them that she could find. www.boulderbars.com

That's strange, because when I found mine, I talked to a manager at Reese and she told me that they were still making them and that it is under the Reese number 65042. This was back in March though, so things may have changed since then.

Hidden Hitch, Drawtite and Reese are owned by the same company, Cequent. So they discontinued the two piece design(HH) and consolidated both one pieces to one part number.

I just talked to a customer service rep at http://www.hitchfinder.com/ and she informed me that they are still being made and you can order one from them. Call 1-866-308-9051, they can help you.

This is an update. I have been in direct contact with Cequent Customer Service and the following is straight from the horse's mouth:

There is a market for these

would like to know where I

that are looking. Thanks.

65042 is available only

Yes it is discontinued. Unfortunately there is no replacement for it.

So there you go. It has been discontinued and will have no replacement. I stand corrected. Good luck in your hunting!

Try Hidden Hitch part number HH7-5024.

I found it at http://www.4vehicleaccessories.com/inde ... &ProdID=81

$120.00 free shipping, put in coupon code "hitches" and you get $6.00 off

I just ordered one.

UPDATE: After being on order for a week, they emailed me that it was no longer available and refunded my money.

65042 is the Drawtite number for the hitch. 13542 was the Reese number last time I checked.

Actually they are the same part. The 13542 WAS the Drawtite # but has been consolidated into the Reese # 65042. If you look on Drawtite or Reese's websites, the part numbers are all the same now, and neither list one for the KJ.

I just got off of the phone with Cequent Customer Service. I talked first with the service rep who told me that the front mount hitch for the Liberty is DISCONTINUED. Not being satisfied with that I then was transferred to the Technical Department to ask why and if there was anything that would work as a replacement. I was informed that low sales and possibly the "90 minute exhaustive involvement" installation had something to do with it. And there is NO replacement. He also proceeded to tell me that there are approximately 20 in their wharehouse, and that is all there will ever be, as far as Cequent MFG is concerned.

BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU WANT A FRONT MOUNT HITCH FOR YOUR KJ, ORDER IT NOW, OR WAIT FOR A USED ONE TO COME UP FOR SALE ON HERE OR EBAY.

Best of luck...

Please post back here when you get it. I might get one while the getting is good.
