NIce long wait. Funny too when you consider how many 8.25's are under XJ's and KJ's, it seems there should be a market ready to buy.

Ooh. That's good news. I e-mailed them earlier (few months ago) and they didn't even have any plan for 8.25 at the time.

Late 2007 is a LONG time away when you look at how many models are out NOW! How crappy is that.

Considering all of the Dakata's and Durangos that use an 8.25... that is a pretty big potential market.

D44's front and rear would be a great option for an '08 Renny 8)

Is there any possibility of moving the date sooner with a group buy? How many orders would it take? Or, are they getting ready to put it in a stock vehicle next year?

Electronic Limited Slip Differential Means Ultimate Control

Eaton’s new EGerodisc™ electronic limited slip differential (which is standard equipment on the front and rear axles of the Quadra Drive II™ on the 2005 Jeep® Grand Cherokee), provides ultimate traction control.

The Eaton EGerodisc is a hydraulically-operated electronically controlled limited slip differential that is capable of providing variable torque up to full axle lock. The EGerodisc can be used as a stand-alone product that provides ultimate traction control, or it can be integrated with ABS or stability control packages to also provide enhanced vehicle dynamics.

Stephen Buente, senior vice president and group executive, Automotive, explained the importance of Jeep as the launch program for the EGerodisc technology. “The introduction of the EGerodisc active differential system will strengthen the Jeep Grand Cherokee as an industry benchmark. The capability of the EGerodisc differential system provides ultimate Jeep Trail Rated® performance and just as importantly enhances normal driving,” said Buente. “We're proud that the Chrysler Group recognized our capabilities and asked us to develop this system for the Jeep Grand Cherokee.”

Eaton, the world’s largest producer of superchargers and engine valves, is a leading provider of automotive engine air management and fuel economy systems. Eaton’s automotive business also supplies market-leading locking differentials, mirror controls, and transmission control modules for improved performance and fuel economy.

I won't exactly call the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee an industry benchmark for off roading, you need a pen to put the transfer case in neutral. It does have some pretty sweet technology in it though. The tranfer case in the GC is electronically controlled.
