I emailed Rough Country today to see if they were planning on making "their race inspired, patent pending constant velocity joints" currently available for 99-05 Chevy/GMC's available for the Jeep Liberty. "These CV joints have an operating range of up to 50 degrees with high angle boots and a splined slip shaft." They were featured in Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine's June 2006 issue.
If you look closely (with a magnifying glass), you can make them out.
Oh, here's a better picture from the mag. Thank God for kids!
I have no idea what's happening with the J.E. Reel Drive Line CV joints. Has anyone heard anything?
Another option could also be to have locking hubs like on Toyotas. That would greatly reduce wear and tear. While locked-up on the trails you really shouldn't hurt the axles going at those slow speeds. I don't know, what do you guys think? Would it be feasible/practical?
