I'm impressed by the amount of work the person put into it.

It's sad to see that it's a 4x4. You see that with the 4 Hummers that are running around here. All 4x4 with low profile tires and spinners. There are other SUV's here that are going that route. I am one of the few that actually drives around with mud proudly on my Libby. You should see the looks of disgust when I pull up next to "Bling Bling" with all my mud! :D

If I had the money I would rescue it, install my 5.5 inch lift and run the trails with it. Pull to side watch a couple of off road videos, blast some country music, and than get back on the trail again. All those years as a young pup standing next to heavy equipment (pre-OSHA) I need those dang amps and subs anyway!!!

So Al, how's your 5.5" kit coming along anyway?

Taken from a post I did in the 4x4 section:

You will need to wait a little longer for a full up-date, but......... I am working with both Jeff Daniels Jeep in Pa. and Rock Krawler. I am getting a bunch of left over parts from the 7-up kit, such as the rear truss and four link, springs for the rear and the those funky looking ball joints pictured previously.

I know I keep promising to take photos and write things up, but it is not done yet. I just got the Rock Krawler 3.5 lift front clevis, really nice piece, and the front Frankenlift with HD OME springs. Add those two together I will have around 6 inches of lift in the front. More than I had planned for but hey. If I use the 7-up rear springs as is (no cutting down), that will 7 inches in the rear. It is getting too high. I also picked up a rear sway bar from a Chevy Tahoe that looks like it work. I will need to weld the sway bar connections to the axel or truss.

Why a truss, well its a truss, keep from bending things, I ran trusses on all my old iron, but those things weighed in at over 6000lbs fully dressed out. And if you weld them to the tubes, or bolt them-than bolt it to OEM mounting point on the diff, you have one H E double toothpick of a strong 8.25 housing. Add Yukon axles and a detroit, now you are living large!

Front diff, once I get the lift completed, I will turn my attention to the front diff and the lower arms. I still have that Dana 44 and a full size Dana 30. I may take the Dana 30 and see if I can adapt the existing 30A parts to it such as the axle tube and D/S bearing support and swap everything over except for the pinion gear.

This is Jeepin Al...no life but a Jeeper's Life for me. And I wonder why I am tired and sore all the time...no its not from the ladies!

Way to hi-jack a thread.....Al

Did anyone else notice that even with all that high tech electronics he's got in there, he still has to plug in his I-pod for the music? Wouldn't he still have to have a lift on there to clear 22" rims though?

i'd just put new wheels and tires, a lift, original tailights and original doorhandles on it, and it would be nice again....I'm not big on the trim around the stereo though, so that would have to get re-made, but the AV setup is kickass, and those gauges are sweet (i'll prolly end up buying a set now). It could be a really sweet rig if you just get some original stuff to put back on it. Then just Frankenlift it, throw some 31's under it and call it a day, it's already got the skids, since it's a rene, so it's almost ready to go...lol

The thing that really makes you wonder is why nobody bid on it. I don't think that was onelowlibertys KJ I thought his was lower with 20 and no spinners.
