The point of this thread is to post your stories, reasons, or ideas on why everyone out there should become more active or even better yet, start being active. It`s to invite the newcomers, lurkers, as well as the less active members to do their part for this great club and make it better in any way they can. Sure time/money/family/job can sometimes get in the way which is understandable but even a little thing here or there can make this club all the better.

I can say that I have had many great experiences and met many new friends all due to L.O.S.T. What if I never joined? What if I never became more active? The answer to that is I would have missed out on alot of things. I would have never met the great friends I have made through this club. I would never have experienced the great memories I have had and will in the future. All because of L.O.S.T.

So, what is your story?

Mike

Well....
At the time Lost Midwest re-organized had the first meet & greet in October 05, there were 7 of us that met... lemme tell ya... that was the beginning of my jeep experience. If it was not for my desire to do something different I'd still be driving a mall crawler. Not only that, I would not have connected with all the guys that I know now. Great bunch of guys/gals.
After that, the entusiasm, the desire, the interest that LOST got me into just went up the roof. Decided to share more of what I know and learn from the ones that know more than I do from the forums. Then even better, decided to join on a trail run and have done it so at least once a month ever since.
Kept meeting more and more people, specially on the outings and at one point decided that MOAB was what I needed so I made the effort and went there for my first MOAB experience. MOAB was the icing on the cake.... met a bunch of people that I only knew from the forums and made a lot more friends.
All in all, this hobby of mine is not a hobby anymore - I think it is becoming a lifestyle... :)
Once LOST, forever LOST...

Not a huge mechanic so I definately take more info than I can contribute without giving all kinds of bad advice LOL, but I have always been enthusiastic about my vehicles. In fact, I often check on line to see who's driving them before I buy (coolcats.net anyone ?). When I ran across the LOST forum I was sold. I drove the Rav4s, Escapes etc but the KJ felt so solid. Not to mention the "brotherhood" that goes with owning a Jeep vehicle. This forum has proven to be a major wealth of information and comradarie and I can't wait to meet and wheel with, well, any of y'all.

See ya in MOAB in 245 days, 9 hours.

VIVA LOS KJ and Southern LOST!!!!!

I think everyone should meet up with their local lost chapter and go for a trail ride at least once, just to see what their jeep can do.

Other than that, it's really about having a place where you can ask questions and give answers to all things jeep related. There's just such a pool of knowledge here, I know that on any tuesday at 2pm I can ask the forum for a bolt size, part number, advice for what to buy, ask for a second opinion on service, or anything else and get a lot of feedback. It's good to have that around when you own a car, and I wish I had that for my previous cars.

Well, if we can not get a trail ride together with each chapter, then maybe each chapter should just get together for a greet day. Even set some kind of joy ride and stuff like that.

I know that when there were trail rides, I was never able to make them for family function reasons and work.

I would love just to gather up my local group and meet them and take a ride to some nice places; ( moutain over looks, BB-Q/Picknik). something like that if we can not get a trail ride.

something like that would be really cool too.

Image HI! Image My name is Tokyojoe.............*waiting for your greeting*............... and I am a LOSTaholic. Yes, yes I am. No use denying it.

What would I be doing if I didn't post so much? Keeping my condo cleaned up, bills paid on time...no wait, I have online auto bill pay, nevermind....my cat wouldn't be so fat (I'd be playing more games and not dumping as much food into his dish), I'd have my Jeep waxed five times as much as it has been already, I'd probably be flat broke by going out more at night Image or drinking with my buddies (they drink a lot)Image , maybe have found a new girlfriend by now Image .......or not....oh well, there are positives to being on here........ Image

Image Image Image

What would the forum be like if the top ten people posting, weren't here? Wow! Dead. Don't leave this place for just us weirdos to post. Get involved and be a part of our fun friendly family.

Gosh wow, I wish I could be more active then I am now. I just got a Southern lost decal made up and am giving out to our Chapter members and to any others that wish to purchase or make a trade for another Chapter's decal (PM me and we'll work something out). Now that college is starting up again full-time along with part-time work, i'm not totally sure when and where i may be able to offer some services. Of course I plan on peeping in and seeing how people are doing and whatnot and also updating yall on what i got going on (if you haven't noticed my little chat thread in the the off topic discussion section that is ususally where I make a comment or 2 about my day...you can too if you want...others already have) So at any rate Southern lost is a BIG area..in fact i think it could include Kentucky too if it wanted too, but I think they might be included in the MidWest group but I'm not so sure. Then again I wouldn't give up the area for anything. Well maybe for some good wheeling area near Memphis I would, about the only cool things I've found around here are construction sites...and I was kicked off one, only after being told Nice Liberty. But I love to travel and believe me when I say that if I hadn't had to work so much to payback my debt on the totaled KJ b4 this one I would have made a trip to New Orleans Area where jason thompson as just worn out the Southern lost Section threads with trail ride dates and happenings. I hope he knows we appreciate all the invites and eventually I, at least, will take him up on quite a few. By the way if you read this Jason, when are you passing through Memphis in October??? And so far my lost experience has been great, I won a Rig of the Month Contest for best Patriotic Pic, I'd like to think that some of the info i've learned through this site i've been able to spit back out in return to the newbies after me, got the Southern lost decal made-up (with help from my sister and Don of course), in the process of planning some sort of Regional Meet-n-Greet in Jackson, MS which seems to be somewhat of a "center' point for our Southern lost area. If anyone wishes to help us out or to join, DO IT!!! lost is F-U-NNNNNN...FUN. Can't wait for more to happen....

EDIT...I've been a member of this site since April 2006...that means in 4 months and (now at least) 13 days...i've racked up 500 some odd postings...i'd say i'm lost and found at lost

Nice everyone. :D

But what`s your feel good story "because of L.O.S.T."? Give the "lurkers" out there reason to join. Give the "less active" more reason to be more active. Also, show why we all should make this site and this club (and the local chapter) all the better. I know many of us were skeptical of people we didn`t know at first and I guess seems intimidating in a way when the board is full of "strangers".

I think by us giving our stories, examples, and cherished moments that were all because of L.O.S.T. and because we "got active", we can make the club as a whole that much better.

Mike

I stumbled apon L.O.S.T. while looking for info after I bought my wifes KJ on any aftermarket stuff for it,well after 4 months of being here it was time to trade in my truck & get a KJ for myself now I have 2 thanks to these guy's/gal's :D

on a more serious note you WILL NOT FIND a more friendlier group of people who are willing to help in anyway they can on any subject & some are willing to go to you if thier close & help you out which will give an oppurtunity to meet someone new & put a face with a name

you may never get to meet everyone here but they make you feel as though you have which is AWESOME but we try with MOAB & other big events thru out the year to try & get as many of us together as possible & those who can't go are always still here :)

I liked this place so much I wanted to do more so I got involved with LOST KJ's NorthEast my local club & designed a logo & had some decals & T-shirts made up & then they kinda elected me Pres. which is alot of fun for me, it's a slow process but we're getting there we started out with 1 major run a year when I came in, Memorial Day, but now we do a Toys for Tots meet & greet which will be on it's second year that started out as just a meeting of our NY guy's now it's a big deal & we're scheduling rides every other month or trying to find out if there are any Jeep things going on such as fairs, jamborees etc. we're realy starting to come together now & I love it

so don't be shy come join the fun & learn about your Jeep while your here & we love pictures

Cherished moments? Let's see....

-Campfire and cb chatter with these guys.
-Getting invited to go to the only Camp Jeep ever on the west coast and being paid to be a trail guide. That was crazy fun!
-Feeling such a sense of pride to see our picture with our Jeeps on Jeeps website after CJ.
-Same sense of pride when we're mentioned in a magazine (or featured in an article 8) )
-Man, just getting to hang out with such great people I guarantee I would have never met if I had bought any other vehicle.
-Oh my gosh, MOAB!!! Anywhere with dirt or rocks.
-Plain ol good times enjoying the friendliness and knowledge from everyone.

And it just keeps getting better!

I hate lost! As gas prices started to rise, I decided to trade my 03 kj in for something less thirsty. After parting with the KJ, I stopped lurking here. Then one day I came here just to kill some time. Five minutes of surfing lost spurred a quick email to my friend at the jeep dealer. So out goes the gas saver (pissed off wife big time) and in comes 04 kj (flame red). We then are "surprised" with the news that kid number four is on the way. My sweet 04 kj is traded in on a white honda van   . Then I start lurking here again, and the wife's CRV disappears in favor of an 06 kj :D

The way I see it, the folks on this board have made me purchase two extra kj's in three years! So whatever you do, DO NOT GET LOST

So have you learned your lesson yet? Don't get rid of a KJ! Keep it! Love it! Take care of it! Get possessed by it.
