So I took my CRD in for it's 1st oil change yesterday and was surprised with the level of service.

1) They used my Shell Rotella oil, no questions asked. I just said please use my oil.
2) About 10 min after I bought it in the service manager came out and said "There is a computer update for your car, it takes about 10 minutes to install. Do you have time for that?" (This impressed me because, I had been reading about some of you guy aguing to get them done)
3) They did the oil change, computer update, checked my window seal, washed car in under 1 hour.

It's nice to hear that there are some Dealerships around that still believe in providing service to their customers. I can't say that for the POS Dealer that I've had to try and work with. Hell, they don't want to do what's required, not alone what you ask them to do.
I've come to realize that there isn't anything I can do to change their attitude. And it's a sad state of affairs when Chrysler/Jeep won't get involved. It's too bad, because I really love the CRD, but I'd be hesitant to spend any more money with these people.

Thats to bad about your dealer. Is there another dealer around. I have 4 or 5 within 100 miles.
What kind of problems are you having?

Yep, I've heard from others that there's a Dealership that has great service about 75 miles from where I live. I think I'll make the drive to them if I develop any problems.
This rinky-dink Dealership here in town doesn't have a mechanic that's been trained on CRD's, so that may be part of the problem. I know that the few times that I've had the Libby worked on by them, they've broken more than they've fixed. If they didn't piss me off so bad, it'd be funny, because they don't have a clue.

You need to post a full size version of that avatar image your using, it looks good! Maybe put it in the Rig of the Month section for this months "Beach" theme!

Yeah. Chrysler (well, auto manufacturers in general) don't appear to give a crap about how their Dealers behave as long as the Dealer is moving volume. Last year I wanted to file a complaint about a lying-sack-of-bird-squat Dealer regarding their false advertizing (rebates) claims for the CRD and the way I was treated when I questioned them. It appeared to me this not-yet-Five-Star Dealer was in violation of several Chrysler precepts regarding customer service. I was all over the web site for the Five Star program and couldn't find any kind of contact information at the time. These dirt bags have since been given Five Star status.

Based on the sales staff behavior when I was shopping for a vehicle I refuse to take my vehicle there for service even though they are the closest dealer to my home.

If Daimler-Chrysler doesn't care when Dealers' behavior disparages the Chrysler name then apparently there is no name to disparage.

That said, I'm sure odds are there is a good dealer out there. Somewhere.

I think the dealerships should be held to strict standards. I expect them to know my car like the back of their hand. DC should do somthing more than the 5 star standard. I've heard that it's not that hard to get.

I have generally found that the more competition a dealer has in the local area, the more willing they are to satisfy the customer. I am not saying this applies 100% of the time either way, but it given them an added incentive to make us happy.

I agree with you on that.
When DB's sales really start to skid they might put a little more pressure on their Dealerships. I saw that happen to GM a few years ago.

My experience with the dealership has been almost laughable even though I've only been there once for service. They did change the oil to the Shell Rotella I brought in. However, I was in to install Siruis satellite. Since I have the RB1, it is not a manufacturer's option. Long story short, I provided them with the three part numbers they needed to order. It took several phone calls to different people (X tells me "you need to call Y", Y tells me "you need to call X" and so on) to even find out if the parts had been ordered and if they had arrived. I brought it in for an appointment when the parts were alledgedly there. Called me back that afternoon to tell me that "someone" ordered the wrong parts (recall I had given them DC part numbers) and that it would take another day. When I picked up the vehicle they had only installed two out of the three parts and charged me $150 more than their original quote.

Great job, Power Chrysler/Jeep Scottsdale!

That's usually a sign of high employee turn-over + poor training. When I was a Verizon customer, I would get passed around like a hot potatoe evertime I called them. Needless to say, I am no longer a customer of Verizon. I hate that when you call in and go through all that automated crap, and then still can't find the right person to help you.
