Intermittently slow here. Oddly enough I sometimes find that a forum page will not load unless I click the link and then leave the mouse over the link. If I move it, it won't load or loads extremely slow. Never seen that happen on a forum yet. At first I thought it might just be the PC here at work but my home puter has the same issue. Anyone else?

What? You mean you guys missed the big FORUM debate last night? The guys from DC came on and talked to us about the new KK Liberty. It was awesome to say the least. The DC guys offered all of us that were on last night (they took our names and we had to PM them our personal info) 50% off on the first batch of KK's that come out in 2008.

So has anyone heard from one of the admins as to why we are having these problems? If they need to take the site offline to do server maintenance or something, just let us know. But can we please get this fixed? It's quite annoying. It's like having dial-up again.

As a database/system admin/web developer, I can tell you with certainty that the "debug error" that was showing up a couple days ago was due to a corrupt database table. This happens when the database server is not properly shut down, or experiences a hardware failure. In my experience, a well-managed server should never run into this problem, and if it does it should be fairly quick to restore a backup and be back up and running (minutes, not hours or days). Your mileage may vary, but I do know what I am talking about. :)

Understood, and I guess the main reason it took so long to get the server back up is because the people who normally maintain it are on vacation. Just one of those things you encounter on a volunteer site, not that I'm gripin' on 'em. For my money they do a great job keeping the site running :D

A database crash has nothing to do with the people that maintain the site. The site is hosted on a server run by Interland web hosting. They are a huge company with a 24/7 staff. They should 1) have their servers set up reliably enough that it doesn't happen in the first place, and 2) fix it swiftly. I personally wouldn't be paying them much for the level of service they provide.

This site usually does really good. This does not happen that often, seems they have it up and running again though... :D

When you pay for a server, you expect quality and service. From what chrismc is saying, it had nothing to do with our webmasters or admins but the company providing the server. Being down that long really is unacceptable in this day and age.
