I should of measured before hand ( but got too excited about getting it all put on  ) but I know that I got at least 2.5 with the HD OMEs and Ranchos struts and 4 conduit nuts for the clevis. Does anyone else have 245 70 16s to compare ride height? I know it would be some difference but ...

Ahh, Its the clevis lift. I get it now...

When I have the time, Im going to rent a spring compessor and turn my springs so my upper balljoint goes between the coils. I cannot do a clevis lift with the springs turned the way they are.

Do you have any pics of the suspension at full droop tommudd?

I had a look at all notes i made of the OME lift kit. The HD rear springs have settled at a lift of 55mm thats just over 2'' when they were first installed the lift was 65mm so as you can see its gone down by 10mm so id say the true lift is 55mm.
The front is 60mm but then has a 12mm spacer plate added to the HD spring.

As you can see from my previous posting i have had a lot of weight in the jeep.

Could someone please tell me what a clevis lift is?

Clevis lift...

Is when you do not seat the bottom of the strut flush with the clevis bracket. Leave a little space between them to gain a little lift.

Thank you. (You must be up late) So if i understand it correctly the clevis is the fork that sits at the bottom of the OME strut and is connected to the lower A arm?

I see that you have a 3/8 clevis lift. Do you place a spacer ring between the two to prevent it from moving?

Yes you are correct on the clevis, the way I did it was place 4 conduit nuts under the strut before sliding it down into the clevis. The conduit nuts are about 1/8 inch think I think. I just put those on so that there would be chance of it slidding back down. Look through some of the pictures on here and you will see what we are talking about. If I could fiqure out how to post I would.

By the way Apollo my wife thought it was really cool that someone from Africa was on here, she is from Tanzania. 8)

Yep, thats what the clevis is man. I didn't place a spacer in there. I probably should though, just so there is absolutley no chance of it sliding back down. I just torqued the nut down and it hasn't moved since i did it and I did some pretty good rides in the rig too. So it wouldn't hurt to have a spacer but it isn't needed, just make sure you have both sides spaced evenly.

P.S. Tanzania is a great place and we are planning a over land trip to Zanzibar, and that will take us through Mozambique into Tanzania the trip home will be Zambia, Botswana and then home. Cant wait for that one I'm sure she misses Africa in some ways?

Thank for your help on this kolesy i have a good understanding of it now, iv done a drawing of a 4.5mm spacer ring and will have 4 machined up and and powder coted so not to rust. That will give me 9mm just off 3/8 lift.

Just one last question how strong are the clevis?

Thanks again, Well i just wondering how strong the front clevis is, i mean in the sense of how much force or weight it would take be for it broke. I have not heard of one breaking but i an concern of mine, maybe an unjust one?
We travel far distances on very bad roads here and its not unheard of breaking springs we do carry one spare just in case. The OME spring give the least amount of trouble.

I have never heard of a single person having one of them snap on them. If they weren't safe they wouldn't be on there in the first place. Except the ball joints of course.

Thanks Fouros I'm feeling alot better about it, i was concerned about it with the ARB front bumper and winch. All that added weight. That Ausi bumper is so tuff i understand why it flattens us spring bucks!! I'm sure you know what im getting at? :D
