Gosh, you must of come down fairly hard on it. How did the other skids do? I hope you didnt run it very long. With less fluid in the pan, its over filled for one, but it could also cause it to over heat. :?

AllJ Super Skid II.......*insert Timex theme here*.......takes a licking, but keeps on uh....uh.......skidding.

Mopar T skid, cheap and good enough for the small stuff, but not for the big playgrounds.

Actually-the mopar skid was an early addition when I just wanted something there. The mopar skid will only protect the pan from a hole, it wont really hold up the KJ. I always had to pound the thing out after some good rides. I'm not the only one...

"Out on the Rubicon the Liberty works well enough, though not as well as it would work with a rear locker and serious off-pavement tires. Lots of grinding, however, was heard from meetings of Rubicon rock and Liberty engine/trans/T-case skidplates. In one case the skidplate and transmission pan were so seriously mashed as to shut down the transmission. "

whole article

Mine was crushed a few inches on the side of the sump so I was lucky. Fixed now.

That's why you need a 3# hammer and a 15mm socket on the trail. I had to beat a plate into submission, er, I mean flat, at camp jeep the other week...

So you missed the valve body?

Do you have the 45 rfe or 42 rle tranny??

I know if that were my 45 rfe tranny pan, I would be toast because the valve boddy would have been flattened too!

I have the 45rfe. Luckily, the valve body is actually pretty high. If you look close, the dent doesnt go up to where the pan flares out where the filter is. The primary filter sump sucks from the center of the pan where it drops. If it crushed it more centered it probably would have shut down the trans.

it's suppose to be a "skid" FYI. You must of landed on this thing hard!! or wham wham it somehow.

neverthless, upgrade is in your future.

It did buffer some of the impact, better than nothing. Who was your spotter?
