Hi All,
When I turn my control dial inside the Jeep to any of the A/C settings, the A/C clutch will engage as normal. However, it then disengages after a couple seconds without me touching any internal controls. With the controls set to A/C, the clutch will continue to engage and then disengage(within about 2 seconds) every 5 sceond or so. This leaves me with no cool air running through the vents as the compressor won't stay on for any length of time. Anybody ran into this before? Is this maybe a safety mechanism for a bigger problem?

Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated, as I'm trying to stay away from the dealer as long as possible (no warranty left).
Thanks!

Id say its just low freon, no biggie really. You can get a kit at walmart that comes with a guage and everything to add freon.

Keep in mind, if it's low, its got a leak. Just buying another can and recharging is a temp fix. JP

Some the "refrigerant" at walmart and places has leak sealer in it. Not to sure if that stuff is good on the A/C system but it may seal a small leak... :)

Also make sure your coolant is filled to proper level. If it`s low, you won`t get AC.

Thank you all for your comments. I am going to take it to the dealer for a system diagnostic-recharge. With any luck they wont find anything BIG. Thanks again!
