OK, I know you guys have been dying to see this for a long time. I finally got a guinea pig to take apart (thanks Pete), so this is what I have worked on the last couple of hours. Now that I have all the measurements I need, it's off the the manufacturer for prototyping. As soon as I get the design plans to my manufacturer, they usually have prices for me within the week, if not the following day, so count on retail, intro and preorder pricing within the next week or two.

OK, these are just made of that poster board that I do my first mockup with, but you will see it is very much like the 02-04 style. I will be using the trailer lights for both front bumpers, but they will be behind the bumper and shine through the slots in the front. Adds protection to the lights and it looks a lot better than those cheap oval lights stuck to the front. This is pretty much it as far as the design goes, so I don't plan on making any changes to it.

Nice Corwyn!

RL OUT-FRICKIN_STANDING!

I really like how you are gonna put the lights recessed into the bumper. Added protection and a nice clean look!

Money is waiting!!

 :D

That's the front CRD bumper, I just put it over there out of the way. Not sure when yet.

Thanks for the compliments so far guys. I am going to get these plans to the manufacturer asap, especially before I get that first batch of KJ rear bumpers on the 15th, which will have me pretty tied up for a little while. Figure about 4-6 weeks on the first prototype, probably another 6 weeks for the second prototype, and hopefully that will be the last prototype, then off to production. Going to try and have the 02-04 and the 05-06 fronts ready by Christmas.

I'm liking it. Very nice looking.

I can't quite tell from the first photo. But it looks like it will protect the washer bottle in the stock position. Is this correct?

What about the box where the marker lights are. I kinda think it will look cool to keep this area stock and cut the factory trim around your bumper. Just make the bumper flat all the way across. It will look like its tucked in under the front like the one on your XJ. You could possibly make the marker area an add-on that bolts into place if you so chose to add the option.

The washer bottle will still have to be relocated. Keeping the stock headlamp plastic in place is a TJM thing. It is a good idea, atleast on the 05-06 model, but the TJM design was posted first and I don't like to be thought of as a copycat. Besides, I already did the 02-04 model with new signal housings, so it only makes sense to keep my bumpers looking similar, instead of going off on different tangents with different model years. People will see my bumpers and know it is a Rock Lizard bumper, no matter what year KJ it is on.

Will there be any room on that bumper for the renegade fog lamps to be put on in the same spot as stock. because I like where the fogs sit right now.

If you are referring to the lights that are mounted on top of the 05-06 bumpers that cover the driving lights in the grill on the model shown, then yes, there will be holes in the top of the bumper for lights.

That's a perk for me--I tore up my stock washer bottle on Metal Masher, so now I HAVE to get a new bumper...so I can replace the washer bottle. Isn't that how it works?

Now to convince the missus...

Yes thats exactly what i meant. This bumper is by far better than the arb one. I think it fits the KJ nicely.

Landmaster! You people crack me up :-)r

It does look nice. I like the slanted light treatment (please keep that). I think the bumper is a little thick and chunky (vertically). Is there a chance of lopping off a little vertically?

If this goes to production I'm changing my tune and going with you :)
