here is their comment.....

Beef up the wimpy stock units with Rusty's Upper Control Arms built with .250 wall 1.25” DOM tubing. Rubber busings at the uni-body frame and race inspired uni-ball mounting the arm to the knuckle.

heres my opinion.....

so jeepin al was the first, but im sure the stock upper control arms arm beefy enough, wasnt the real issue the rubbing and that is why jeepin all made the new uca for extra clearence which rusty amazingly just made too. <------ sarcasim..

so yeah, maybe rusty said this for marketing and to also not imply that there will be any side affects to doing any of their lifts on the kj.....
if they admit a problem sales will go down, so why not call the stock control arms whimpy.....

HELLO, wtf........... has anybodys stock control arms givin out or had an issues because they were whimpy...
come on rusty.... just tell it like it is and why you really made the uca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Dude I ain't even gonna go there!! This has been addressed to the end to an end already! WHy get ticked cause someone is making more parts for us! Be happy we have supporters no matter how they advertise! The reason they made the new arm is to have a beefier servicable ball joint and to eliminate spring contact. Rusty's has great products for our rigs minus their spacer lift which is known by all to the problems it CAN cause! Why not get mad at all the companies that came out with lifts after the first one was mass produced for the KJ. Same thing people notice things that can be better for our rigs so they start to produce BETTER products than stock for us! Let's just have one company make all the aftermarket parts for us and all will be well!<--------Sarcasm

See here...... http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... 28&start=0

Come on Man!!

Oh all this is just my opinion as well

Good opinions. FWIW I agree w/ both. Buy what you want from who you want & The more the merrier when it comes to aftermarket parts for the KJ's.

first im not getting ticked off, second i am more then happy because someone is making more parts, third im actually waiting for the rock krawler 4inch lift even though everyone bags on rock crawler...... and forth, i was asking why they tried to say the stock uca is weak when in fact the whole issue was the rubbing when it was lifted..the new arms were made mainly to provide more clearence...like you said to prevent rubbing.

if you read my first post again... im sure im just baggin on their wording, although i am happy their making it.

and yes i agree, i almost bought their spring lift because it gave the least problems from what i read...

come here... lets hug and be friends... sorry to offend you or anyone else

but still, i think they can word it better....lol

Actually the weak link in the stocker is the ball joint just like on the lower. The stock arm itself is fine but still includes an unserviceable ball joint. My 1st set was replaced at 9,000 miles. Must have been all that mall crawling?

I agree, the more parts thats made for the kj the better.

You had to replace the upper balljoint at 9k? I didnt think they went bad unless the boot got torn or something? Did it have a lift at the time?

Mine had a lift at 390 miles. Half of that mileage was driving to All J's original shop to get lifted. Actually, only one side was out of spec but dealer decided to go ahead and do both since I asked nicely. Both upper boots were fine too. Only thing I can guess is one side didn't get lubed from the mfg as it was worn pretty bad. Never had the problem w/ the 2nd set of uppers that were installed and funny thing is my original lowers were still w/in spec a few months ago when checked. Over 36k miles on them too. Go figure.

Its all good man. Just the way you worded it got to me, like you were aying they just cpoied Al's.

Rockcrwaler already has new 3" and 3.5" kits out now. I didn't know they are making a 4" kit. I know Superlift is SUPPOSED to be developing a 4"er but we shall see cause they have been saying that forever, but htey have actually been in here posting about it. If you check out the vendor forums i believe the thread is in there.

Does anyone know if Rustys UCA is actually longer than Stock? So if someone got the UCA's from Rusty, they will no longer have the spring contact issue?

I've just ordered mine from AL so I will not know.

I don't know if he is actualy selling them yet. Everytime I check the site it still says call for pricing so i don't know. I have Al's arms (STS) waiting for mein my garage when I get back so I won't be able to find out about the Rusty's ones, but would love to hear about them from someone who gets them.
