All I can say is WOW!! All of you guys are really great. When I first began to read this thread, I thought I would hear....make her drive the KJ. But wow, great advise came from all around. Nearly put me in tears... even given that my b/f and I just split, so I am probably a little freaky at present.... you guys are jus GREAT!! Kudos all around for being such good friends. :D

What?!?! The mopar couple is no more!!! Thats awful! Sorry you are having boy troubles...

Thats cool she wants the kj! She will be much safer in the kj than she would of been in the mini. The only thing I do not like about the kj is its handling in rain. Its so short and the front suspension is so tight, it causes it to push something bad. The generals seem to make it even worse. :?

These things happen  Actually, they happen for a reason so it's okay. :)

I am glad that she chose the KJ too. From a girls perspective, it is a much better choice. I like the minis....they are way cute, but the KJ is in a class of its own...I think she will love it....who knows maybe she will decide to wheel!!!

Being the owner of both a Mini and a KJ I can say she will love them both. I agree you should let her drive both of them. See what she likes the most. But for the size, the maneuverability and way a mini handles. I think she might be happier with the Cooper.

I say KJ. My wife has always loved smaller cars. She wants my KJ now. She loves being up in the road and she feels very safe in it. Maybe I can swing a new TJ!

Why not get her to test drive the Unlimited? She might like it. Then, when you've been a good boy, you can borrow it...

Just a quick update...

She and I went out for a drive on Mon., and.....well......nobody died. But it was a white knuckler. She actually, mistakenlly, mashed the gas peddle when she ment to hit the brake!!! luckily I grabbed the wheel and we avoided shashing the back of a tiny little Kia. It's OK though, I'm sure a couple more trips and she'll pick it right up....I hope. This w/e we're going off road. I'll let her bash it around on some trails for a while. I think that might help her get a better feel for the KJ. Worrying about hitting bushes and tree's instead of other cars might be a nice change of pace..

BTW, W3CSX, my wife just fell in love with that pic!!! I think its a pretty hot set of rides myself...

Na, you have it all wrong. First you go out and buy an old schoolbus. One of those 44 passenger ones. Then you get your wife and drive her out to the country and find the skinnest road. Park the bus and make her drive back home. I'll guarentee you that she'll be happy to drive the KJ after that and it will seem quite small to her as well after learning how to drive in a shcool bus.

Three days after being stationed at RAF Mildenhall (in England) I was thrown into an american spec bluebird bus and told to drive. I didn't think it was possible at first but I eventually got used to it. Now I drive a Semi for a living.

I got back with my wife at the time (now my ex). I had a sweet Black Mustang Cobra and did what was mentioned above (except we were trading). I did it for her and got the nice Van she wanted.

Mine traded my '01 formula firebird (aftermarketed to 340hp) in on a grand caravan. [in my best slick willie voice] "I feel your pain".

Go and rent a mini for a week. It may cost a bit, but if you have her drive one for a week, then the KJ, you'll both know. If she opts for the mini, at least it wasn't a mini-van and you still have your toy.
