My subject above is pretty clear about being L.O.S.T. with regards to my kj and am getting REALLY annoyed at this vehicle right now. I guess that's why this website is called lostkjs.

From the time I have purchased this little burger until now, it has been in the shop a total of 12 times!! I took my CRD into the shop yesterday and also typed out a "to do list" for them to follow which consisted of:
1) Perform TSB # 18-023-06 as per attached sheets. Was in 2006-01 -08 for the TSB to be performed but software was unavailable to download. Advised to return.
2) Perform “Emissions Recall F31(Reprogram TCM for Aftermarket Scan Tool)”
3) MIL comes on intermittently which produces codes P299 and P410 to appear.
4) Loud moaning/rattling noise coming from rear and can be heard inside when the vehicle is in park, neutral, or in drive with brakes applied. Noticed play in the isolator where the tailpipe hanger rests in.
With this typed paper I handed him a hard copy of the tsb 18-23-06 for them to follow as a reference, what another dealer did when they discovered codes P299 and P410 which they had to replace the EGR assembly, and even a folder to put all this paperwork in.
The person who was helping me took my to do list and gave everything else back. I asked him was he sure because this information can be helpful and his response was, that's ok I have everything I need. I figured ok.
I just received my vehicle and the invoice stated as such:
A) TRANS SLIPS INTER. W/DRIVING

I was expecting a new EGR valve, the TSB to be performed, and for them to tell me have a nice day.
I asked the guy, hey what about the TSB and he told me that my vehicle didn't meet the criteria to have the TSB performed. THAT IS WHY I LEFT THE PACKET SO THEY CAN HAVE SOMETHING TO GO BY. THE TSB DOES SAY "IF THE VEHICLE IS IN FOR SERVICE PERFORM THE PREPAIR PROCEDURE." What the hell is going on here people????? If you have any answers PLEASE I am up for anything right now. Oh by the way, when I pulled out of the dealer MY MIL CAME ON, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
About 2 weeks after I started this thread, another one on the same topic was started and can be seen here:
Between these two threads you will see the same problems you have. I have had to fight tooth and nail to get the flashes done "while my vehicle was in for service."
I believe the root of the problem here is that the dealerships are used to seeing TSBs only as solutions to physical symptoms (thousands of TSBs over many years). It appears now that Chrysler (Corporate/DC white collars/whatever) is using the TSB as an undeclared recall and has never informed the dealer service departments.
I got denied time and time again until I got the manager to actually stand there and read the TSB with me, and even then, they were not sure what to think because the stupid reflash TSBs have text in the "Symptom" section of the TSB, but they are not symptoms, but rather results/improvements that occur from the performance of the TSB.
In the end, I actually had to have them ride along and witness the infamous transmission shudder before they would do it, even though it was not required!!!
I do believe the service aspect is why the majority of American car makers are going down the tubes. I have yet to find a trustable service dealer for my CRD here in Indianapolis. Over 14 dealers in the area. Pathetic....
