I like to do my own oil changes and at the same time look around and see what’s going on down under. Has anyone used the Fram Sure Drain? How’s your experience with it? :?:

Dont use it. I have it on now and changed the oil with it 5 times. I can see it is starting to leak now with the easy drain hole. Its a little bit but it get me nervous especially on the trails. It kinda sucks with the normal oil drain plug cause last time i had that one when im taking it off i burnt myself on the CC. I think im going to switch back after the next oil change. I just cant tighten it that much like they do at the dealer. There is something else out there its called the fumuto valve i think. I dont have experience with that one though.

I've also researched the Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valve. I don't really like this one due to the fact that it has a small handle to open the valve. While on the trail could be torn off or turned with debris like sticks stones, ect.. If anyone has any experience with this one as well let us know.

This is a little OT, but does anyone know where I can get a replacement oil pan drain plug with the gasket. Sorry for the hijack.

The jeep dealer i guess. They probably will charge 5 - 10 dollars.

I have the fram sure drain on my liberty, and it's working fine. It's a little slow on the draining that last little bit of oil, but the ability to start and stop the flow and point it into a drain pan without making a mess is nice for me. I don't have any problems with it leaking, but if I did I'd just use a little silicone tape or lock-tite. The little cap that screws on over the valve is nice because it protects the valve from debris and stuff on the trail.

I absolutly love it. Throw a little loc-tite on it if its leaking. if its still leaking after that, silicone works great.

it seems not to leak on the the bolt but it leaks where the hose goes into the drain. The valve thing is leaking. Each time i change the oil i find a little oil on the dust cover.

I dont have a problem with getting the current drain plug out, and I have a skid. I like a nice steady flow so everything comes out. If its just a slow drain, it may not pull alot of crap that builds up in the oil.
