I just finished installing the wiring harnesses on my '06 Sport CRD. Everything checks out, except that the harness is not outputting any voltage for the trailer running lights. The running lights on the CRD still function properly. Has anyone encountered this before? Any possible solutions before I tear into the relay package?

Thanks,
Lee

Don't know if this helps you-When I ordered my hitch and wiring from e trailer I saw that there were two wiring setups sold for the Liberty. I called and was told that one set up was made to run only brake lights/turn signals, etc. The other one was made to handle the extra voltage for side markers, electric brakes, etc. I got the brake light only unit and it works fine for its intended purpose

I don't totally understand this issue but perhaps others can illuminate it further (pun intended).

Apparently the Liberty uses separate tail and brake bulbs rather than a conventional two filiment bulb, and as a result a special wiring harness is required that includes a relay. If you did not install that kind of a setup then you probably need to add the relay and perhaps splice another wire in before it.

You did not note which connector you installed, but a standard 4 plug connector will not work without the extra relay. The factory connector is a 7 pin, but you get a special connector to convert it to a 4 plug that will work on trailers.

As a note, this applies to any vehicle out there that has yellow blinker lights and red brake lights. These vehicles have a seperate builb and wiring for the blinkers and brake lights. It's not jusrt a Liberty issue.

Sorry to have not clarified; the harnesses I installed were the MOPAR 7-wire harness and the supplemental harness required due to the absence of the OH console.

Thanks,
Lee
