Another reminder not to wheel alone, and only on land you are allowed!

Oh man, how sad. The poor guy was only 21. :(

Be safe, people, and play it smart. Not only is there the obvious loss of life to this young man and his loved ones, but stuff like this gives offroading in general a black eye in terms of public perception.

(on soap box) The same could be said of the thread where many are bragging about their KJ's top speed. Imagine trying to avoid something in the road while making that 100+ mph blast down some back road. Imagine how well your 4000+ Lb. KJ SUV would handle a swerve or sudden lane change. Imagine how it will handle that deer that jumps across the road. Imagine how you would feel if a pedestrian or perhaps a passenger in your vehicle was seriously injured or killed while you were getting your speed thrills. Imagine how your family and friends would feel if You lost your life doing something illegal and unsafe just for kicks. Imagine......ooopppss...... (fell off soap box)
You all know I am right about this. Just think about it for a while. There are places you can get your speed thrills in a safe, controlled environment. Visit a drag strip, join a racing club, visit your local carting track, etc. Ok I'll stfu now as I am sure few care or are listening. :D

I also oppose high speeds on roads, road racing, and the other forms of stupidity that people do for kicks, including the ones they haven't come up with yet. About the young man killed while wheeling alone: my thoughts are about his family and friends...they are the ones who have to pick up the pieces and carry on. There's no guarantee that having a wheeling partner would have saved this young guy from dying, but it might have...an extra set of eyes to see the cliff ahead...we all know that wheeling can be dangerous, but why stack the odds against yourself?

That Wrangler looked short on the flatbed. I guess a 100 foot drop will do that. Bad judgment on his part, but that happens.

^^ Well said guys......I'm glad someone did.....KJs are not race cars...they are SUV's....if you want to go fast...get a car thats made for it....and stay off of public roadways.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where I live we have a SERIOUS problem with street racing....so much so, it rivals the racing that goes on in Miami and L.A.......just ask anyone in the scene about Woodbridge Ontario and Richmond Hill.....crazy accidents, innocent public getting killed....it's out of control.....and who's gotta clean the mess up afterwards?? You guessed it....I do.....not fun.

Anyway....the message here guys is clear.....BE SAFE....don't go it alone.....and think about all the factors out there......#1 You could hurt or kill someone else.....#2 You could hurt or kill yourself....#3 You could really wreck your ride......its not worth it.

Go to to track if you want to go fast where other people are to help.....and the trails....always bring someone with you even if they just ride shotgun.....at the very least tell someone where you're going and when to expect you back.

Don't be a dummy out there guys!

Sorry Zeero, After doing the 400 and the 401, I find it hard to picture anyone in T. (& on those roads) not doing 130-140+kph. I also wish this stuff would have stayed in the proper thread rather than crossing with the "don't jeep alone" thread, but as long as we're hear... I don't think anyone was advocating racing their KJ. Some of us just want to know how fast the thing will go. Am I going to, when I hit a stretch of road that's empty, take it up to it's max once - yes. Is it illegal - yes. Are most of us that do that going to make a habit of it - no. Am I more dangerous driving 130 than the guy talking on his cell and drinking his latte at 100 - no. Racers need to be caught, because they do that crap in traffic - sometime heavy traffic, and will take chances just to "win". And I'm sorry you get to clean up the Darwin winners. Not a job I'd want.

Remember kids, you could also fall down in your shower and hit your head. Look both ways before crossing the street. Strangers are danger.

Risking your own life when wheeling or racing around the streets is one thing, risking the lives of others is the issue. Common sense.

Exactly....well said, and moose, you're right, the 400/401 combo is one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in North America man.....you have to watch yourself on there.

But anyway, if you go bombing down some open strech of road....whos to say a kid won't run out after a ball....or an animal...or anything.....none of you are psychic...and completely UNABLE to predict what lies ahead, even on what appears to be a completely open quiet stretch.

Hurting others is not fun....hence why that kind of behaviour is illegal.

TAKE IT TO THE TRACK.....please!!!!!

Thanks Mutt for the comic relief :D needed that ... seriously though, never wheel alone and drive safe, this story again proves it.
