Does anybody know what kind/size tool it takes to remove the drain and fill plugs on the manual tranny? It is bigger than a half inch drive. (looks like the front diff fill plug but larger)

Anyone? The plug is slightly bigger than a 5/8 allen key.

Transfercase and diffs are done though...yeah!!

I know the 5 speeds are rare, but somebody must have done this before :?:

i got the six speed manual and my drain bolt is a very LARGE female hex. i don't have enough miles yet but when its time i was going to fab up a bold that fits the hex then weld some sort of handle to it to get it off!

For you manual tranny peeps.. It is a 17mm hex. The plug also has a magnet on it. I had some metal shavings clinging there. Hope that is normal....

Now I have synthetic lubes all around.(thanks JJ)

What kind of synthetic lube goes into the '06 six speed tranny? Is it not synthetic from the factory?.I can't figure out what red line or Mobil 1 is correct. I only have 1300 miles, but want to change all fluids after break in (regardless of what DC says about this tranny NEVER needing a fluid change under normal conditions).
Thanks....
Steve
