Do you think the fact that these other "popular" jeeps receiving our 3.7 will open the aftermarket up to more engine performance options?

And If im not mistaken, that 3.8 is coming out of the Caravan! Let it be known that our 3.7 is shared with a pick up and not a minivan!

It is weird that the 3.8L in the new Wrangler is considered a CAR engine and our 3.7L is considered a TRUCK engine. The difference being that the 3.7L uses a timing Chain and the 3.8L uses a timing belt. While it doesn't concern me at all and I trust the 3.8L, it is interesting. I swear I will most likely end up w/ one less KJ in the driveway with a JK replacing it. Man I like that Jeep!

You can find some compatability with Dodge Trucks with the 3.7L in Dodge forums...wish ya'll could fit the air box in a KJ...about 25% bigger.

I have to admit, If I had waited a few months, I might have bought one of those new JK's myself. They are really sweet. And the fact that it now comes as a 4 door convertable, just makes it even more intresting. Sounds and looks like an old cherokee with a removable top.

The 3.7 is going into tons of different models. The only thing the 3.8 is going in is the wrangler. I would say that we will get some performace mods later on.

But if we can install the V8 5.7L (HEMI), man the KJ will rock 8)

how did you get the JBA headers? i heard there was a waiting list on pre-orders and nobody has gotten them yet... then there was word about them pulling the plug on the headers altogether because of lack of orders...

The Wrangler is supposed to be getting the 3.7L, but there are enough being made, so the going with the 3.8L initially (first 6 months of production I heard). And yes, the 3.8L is a minivan engine. I better not hear another word about grocery bag hooks.

They're coming out with a new 4.0L to me the new emission standards, but I don't remember the year it's coming out. I don't think it's 2008, but it could be 2010 or 2012. I'll have to do some digging when I get the chance.

Where did you get the headers? I've been trying to get headers for over 5 years.

The 4.0 v6 is the engine they are using in the nitro rt. The 3.8 is replacing the 3.7. The nitro, new body liberty and wrangler are all getting it.
