I got the passenger side in no sweat. The driver side front one is being restricted by a brake line. Please see the pic. Will I need to remove the line and then bleed the brakes? I have never done that before. i think I could do it, I am just not sure how. Little help please?? :D

Kind of hard to tell anything by the pic, could you bend the tube any and get it out? Dont bend it much, no more than 1/4in or so. Its easy to bleed the brakes, but it takes two people.

Thanks Jeepster. The bolt is butted up against the brake line already. No more bend left. So tell me more about bleeding the brakes.... Is the second person's job something I could feel good about asking my gf to do? Not too messy Of a job is it? I would hate to se her get all dirty helping me out Hahahaha!! :D

all she'd have to do is sit in the seat & pump the brakes or you could do that & have her crack open the valve

Im sure you could find something on the internet to tell you how to do it.

Basically all you do is get the GF to get in the jeep and push the brake pedal. Go down to the caliper(must take tires off) and loosen the bleeder screw and let the brake fluid come out. Tell her not to push hard or it will send it flying. She will push the pedal to the floor and HOLD it till you tighten the screw back up, then she can let off. Do that a couple times to each caliper being sure to keep brake fluid in the reservoir.

Not to sure where that tube goes, but if it goes to the front brakes, you shouldnt need to bleed the rear brakes. I really dont even know how to bleed drum brakes, hope you dont have those and need to bleed them. :?

If you want to read all this, its a better write up:

I put them on a few weeks ago. It was tight, but I didn't have to remove the brake line..

I just eased/wiggled the brake lines out of the way. Be careful and you can do it. That and a bunch of extensions running from the front of the engine compartment.

I think I had this problem...we just unbolted the brake line from inside the wheel well and that allowed for enough movement.

If you have a Mity Mite vacuum pump you can do it yourself. Just plug the pump to the caliper valve, open the valve and pump away. Ever so often refill the brake reservoir, keep doing it till you have no more bubbles in the brake fluid than give one last slow pump and close the valve as the brake fluid flows thru the line.

Thanks for all the help friends. I ended up having to remove the brake line. Got the bolt out and the new arm in. Yeeeehaw!!!! NOw I just have to deal with the F in' brass fitting that does not want to screw back in. I got it to bite once then it went crooked on me. I probably crossthreaded the first thread of the POS. I am a terrible mechanic and if anyone ever sees me post up about doing a repair, no matter how minor, PLEASE try to talk some sense into me.

More when it stops raining.....

I know dude. I had no idea it was going to be so crazy. Plus I figured I would get this one done on my own. :D The arms are in and I ran a "custom" brake line to replace the crossthreaded one. I took no pics beacause frankly I am embarrassed of my work on this mod. Got er done though. Thanks agin for all the folks who posted.

PS. Jason, I hope your "explosive issue" has been resolved. ROFLMAF    :-)r

Haven't bled them yet. Still waiting for my "help" to get home. I found the bleeder valve and I understand how to do it (thanks to your post). Still not sure if I need to do it for all 4wheels since each has their own line running from the block of lines just downstream of the MC. Tons -O- Fun!!! At least I will have it ready for our local clubs JK release deal next weekend. I am gonna have the KJ all shined and ready to hit the RTI ramp.

ROCK ON!!
