Hi all,

I'm considering having clearance lights (you know - like a row of five small amber lights) installed on the front of my roof. I wanted to gauge response here and see what people thought. In short, I'm tired of mistaking the fifteen other silver KJs in any given parking lot I happen to be in for mine. I want something that will make mine easier to spot from a quick roof-top glance.

Cool? Dorky? Tell me what you think!

Well here in Texas people put full sized Flags that extend up over thier trucks about 4 feet...problem is you will see 10 in the same parking lot with Dallas Cowboy flags...

Now, you can add the rooftop marking lots but you will have to make the rear axle a dually.

OK, I think if you could find some of the low profile ones and make sure they flash when you hit your alarm pod...it would make it easier to find.

I had thought of doing something similar. Most of my trucks have had a Lund Moonvisor with lights and I have been searching for a pic of a KJ with a visor on it for a while and can't find one. Probably wouldn't work with my light bar anyway.

Adding my roofrails and kayak pads helped me find my KJ in a parking lot. A roof basket would do the same.

Putting a lift kit on it helped even more! 8)

I think if you get the 5 amber lights on the front of the roof, you need to get the 5 red lights on the back of the roof. Wouldn't look right without them. Actually, 4 might look better. 5 might be a bit too close to each other. Just a thought.

I do however, have to put in a vote that says: you need a Frankenlift to make it high enough to look like it needs clearance lights.

Oh, and I like Darby's dually idea. Or you could go with tank treads, either way.

I have been looking too, I think a visor would set the roof line nice, w/o the light bar of course.

If you look at the front door...the rear fender facia covers part of the door and there is no gap for the door to open...but it does look kewl.

I had thought about clearance lights some time back, but then I realized I'd pretty much have to get huge chrome-girl mudflaps for it, too... not that that's a bad thing, now that I think about it...j/k, there are some pretty low-profile clearance lights available now that would likely work...

Add a roof rack.
Then add a hi-lift jack to your roof rack.
Still can't find it. Add a CB antenna with an orange trail flag onto that.

That's pretty much how I made it easy for myself.

Well, that, and not too many Black Renegades around here.
