I just got ny Jeep back yesterday and had it serviced completely. It got an oil change, new windshield wipers (yay for coupons!), and had the infamous LBJs replaced. It feels like an entirely different vehicle. The ride seems a little firmer and responsive on the road. There is no wander at all and it responds to any feedback at all, whee it had been felling slightly sloppy. I thought my LBJs were fine, but never had checked. I may have dodged a bullet here! Oh and I replaced my air filter that had been a victim of a recent dust storm here (stock FRAM, I don't like the idea of the K&N in the low humidity southwest). The only thing is, my brakes don't quite feel right. I'm thinking that they had to take them off for the recall and they're not quite adjusted right. I'm gonna use AAA for that service though.

I had the recall done to my jeep this weekend and I thougt it was just me, but it does feel firmer. I like it a lot, not as sloppy as it used to be. They replaced my front brakes and now it seems like I have to really get on them in order to stop also. Sort of like yours, they feel like they are not correctly adjusted.

Sounds like you both need to bleed your brakes.

Which is very easy I've learned recently. You do not even need to take the tires off. BUT WHY would the dealer have done something that would make bleeding the brakes necessary. Shouldn't have to after a simple LBJ/brake job......

Well. After my recall, they did their inspection/find as many charges as possible. They recommended bleeding the brakes, but it wasnt done cuz they found some other bogus repairs they wanted to do (aka replace spark plugs we had replaced with platinums). So, I think they may have done something and then wanted me to pay for the mistake. I know my brakes weren't like that when I dropped it off. Other than that, it rides awesome!

Idk about you desertkj, but with mlr, when you get the brakes replaced its normal for them to be like that. If the rotors surface has any small grooves or isnt flat, the pads must wear to the rotor for it to brake like it did before, make sense? If you get then resurfaced it would help it.

Thanks. Unlike a lot of the kids around here, I actually do pay for my car (senior in highschool and have a job). You wouldn't believe the kinds of cars parked at my school parking lot. Makes my liberty look like nothing. I think its better that I actually pay for it rather than have mommy and daddy paying for it. I know I take a lot better care of my car because I have to write the check every month

That, and learning to be responsible for your own finance are great lessons. In the past few years, we have seen irrational exuberance and unsustainable consumption.

It looks like you will be avoiding Generation Bust :D

Ditto that. Good for you. I taught at a HS and couldn't believe the $30-40k brand new SUV's in the lot, being ragged on and totaled once a month. Good to hear you're responsible as well.

Yep. One of my friends has an Acura MDX and they beat the crap out of it. Its sad really. It is my first vehicle (although I didnt pay for it) and consider myself to be very blessed to have been given such a reliable and capable first vehicle.

If they are bad yes it can have that effect, however, depending on how bad it is you probably just need a alignment.

Either way you should check your joints for any play. You can do this your self but it's best to have 2 people. read about it here

I dunnot about you, but I'd let my parents pay for my car if I could get a BMW or some hot booty car like that.

PS I'm 17 and got my liberty when I was 15. Payed for it all by myself. My mom had to put it in her name but I paid her $400/mo.

I feel it rides steers firmer as well. But it seems like it is a little harder letting the steering wheel comeback to dead center after coming out of a turn or corner going slow (parking lot, stop sign) could just be me..

Agreed, I have the same thing (this is why I checked in). It feels much tighter than it did prior to the recall. Actually, it's funny you mentioned the brakes because mine are all of a sudden worn and feel like they arent aligned right (perfectly fine before going in).

Wonder what would cause that?

I had it to the Dealer about a month after I bought it and I did tell them that it pulled to the right they told me that it was nothing ,I also had the break caliper's sticking on me too I would come to a stop and a weird banging noise and well as take off I thought the front end was coming out

I had the same problem with the brakes. They needed much more pressure following a recent brake job. I went back and asked them why is it harder to bring it to a stop, they said it is nothing and works as it should.
It is weird feeling that you get it won't stop and suddenly stops.. Especially at slow speeds.
Someone also suggested they might need bleeding..
I also have pulling to the right, even more following LBJ recall. I can now take the exits on highway with Auto-Pilot (pull force!)
