I have 1500 miles on my CRD 06. I noticed that at about 52 to 55 mph the vehicle felt like it wanted to do something, like shift. It felt rough until about 60, then it would smooth out. I read all the issues on this site and brought my vehicle into my dealership. They flashed the vehicle and it is different, but I feel the tranny is still not right. Does the tranny have to learn all over again? I have to tell you with all the issues of the EGR and transmission, I am weary about going anywhere on long trips with this vehicle. Sometimes it shift great other time it acts up. Why hasn't DC done something about the transmissions in these vehicles? Brand new vehicles should go anywhere with confidence, and without fear of a break down. I love the engine, it's the tranny issues that should be dealt with. I am doing everything to run ULSF with power service to keep the EGR from failing, but the tranny is a bigger issue and DC needs to address it. Are the new 07 GC's with deisels running the same tranny? Don't get me wrong I just love this vehicle. I would love it more if DC would make a move to fix this problem asap.
Does the flash change the shifting speeds? What does this flash acutally do?

The 07 Grands are using the tranny that's in the sprinter and is more of a mercedes design but made in the US. For 07 DC has a redesigned pump in our tranny. People who have a TC failure get the new style pump also. I'm with you on the unreliable issue and think when a good fix comes out that they should "fix" them all without us having to wait for it to fail. Check this thread. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthre ... 886&page=2 It's got some information from a dealer tech (rob92xj) and gives some insite to the problem(s) with this tranny

If DC has a real fix they should impliment it now, before extensive damage is done to the vehicle or it's passengers. What's it going to take an "Explorer Firestone Tire issue" before they move? Comon DC get all the 05 and 06's and make them right. That's how you keep customers coming back. That's what separates a great car company from an average or bad one. Don't get me wrong here, I still love my vehicle and I am glad I bought the liberty diesel now. Their web site shows no diesels for 07 in anything.
