I am planning on installing a Powertrax unit in my rear diff and am wondering if there will be any conflict with the electronic traction control. A related question is if it is possible to operate the traction control in low range. Apparenty the traction control is switched off when the transfer case is in low range. Any information is greately appreciated.

After using 4Lo this weekend a bit I noticed that my ESP system was engaged once 4Lo was activated, granted I never tried to disengage it once I noticed that but I think it would have stayed on. I have a 2006 Sport...

Since the Detroit TrueTracs have both wheels driving, but not at 100% loockup like a locker, I'd think they would be a good choice.

Here is a discussion on this topic, there are several threads out there that explain how the ESP system works in its different modes, do a search for ESP.

I think someone, ZEERO?, has a locker on their 06 maybe they can give us an update.

You might have some issues with the ESP.

The powertrax no-slip is different than a limited slip (detriot true-trac) or selectable locker (ARB).

The powertrax no-slip only powers the inside wheel in a turn; therefore, its easy quite easy for the inside wheel to slip in a turn. Especially when wet. The extra slipping might activate the ESP braking and power reduction more than you would like.

I don't have any experience, but I'm willing to be the ESP will kick on more. However, I don't think it would cause too much of a drivablity issue with an automatic.

If you do install, please post an update and let us know how it turns out.
