Chrysler Group has a long tradition of turning concept vehicles into production models. But we were a little surprised to see a recent ad for the Jeep® Hurricane. It turns out the hit vehicle at the 2005 North American International Auto Show has been pint-sized for preschoolers by Fisher-Price.

You might recall that the concept Jeep Hurricane was powered by twin Hemi V-8 engines producing over 650 combined horsepower. Preschoolers will have to wait a few years before they can drive a Hemi. The Fisher-Price Jeep Hurricane is battery powered with Ultimate Terrain Traction, which according to a Fisher-Price press release issued earlier in October, will propel it “places no other battery-powered ride-on can go. Superior all-terrain performance means dirt, gravel and ruts are no challenge for this vehicle.”
The suggested retail price for the kiddie ride is $399.99. It’s available at fine stores everywhere, just in time for the holidays.

If that dang thing was a little more reasonably priced my Niece would have one for sure. Instead we are getting her a PW Wrangler for Xmas. Only bummer is I can only find a yellow one right now and I was hoping to get her a red one. Regardless of color, at least now she can "go Jeepin" like "Unca John". :D

Here she is with a previous Jeep gift, a pink Lego Wrangler that she has on her dresser at home.

"Unca John" is gonna Jeep spoil her regardless of what my Sister says! :D

I have seen a red one at either Toys r Me or Wally World. It is on the fisher price site. It costs about $200.

THey had at least one red, and one blue Wrangler PW at the Toys R Us by Summit Place Mall on Sunday to bad your nto local. My son had a ball playing with the Hurricane model, but I have a better idea for that kind of money.

Our local TRU only has yellow ones right now. I gotta get it from TRU too as I have about $100 in gift cards from there right now. I'm sure she won't care what color it is.
:D
