For those of you who has lifted your KJ with Rusty's 2.5" coil lift, hope
can help me with this questions:

How much ground clearance after the lift measured to
the front suspension skid plate?

I'd expect approach, departure and breakover angle increases. Could
tell what the new measures are for all of them?

After the lift, you can put 245/75R16 or 265/70R16 tires. I've read the
vast majority of you go with the first one. Why?

i got around 3 inches of lift with the rusty's coil lift. plus 4 conduit spacers above the clevis and 2 extra spring isolators in back, i got close to 3.5.

My measurements are long lost. I measured from the flares and front and rear bumpers but I do believe I got around 2 5/8" increase in those locations.

You will see variations in lift height after any lift. The weight of your specific KJ will be different from others and that can be a major reason for differences in height increases.

I think most of us went with the 245/75 tires to avoid more trimming and mashing flat the pinch weld. That's why I went with them plus I got 5 Goodyear MTR's, almost brand new, for $400 shipped off a guy on ebay upgrading his Wrangler Rubi.

I think that part of the problem that some people on this board have is believing that the most important thing is have the largest tire possible to fit inside the wheel well. This statement is only partially true. What is most important (to those that off-road) is to have the largest tire that also allows for maximum articulation.

Although the two tires are similar in size, the 265/70 is recommended for an 8" rim. On a 7" rim the tire might bulge too much and cause unwanted contact.

And you obviously feel that articulation is the most important attribute. I disagree. IT DEPENDS. It depends on what type of off-road driving you do, and where you do it. If I mud, or need a better break over, you can be sure I'll take the biggest tires; if it's rock gardens, give me articulation.
