I have the same lift as you, went from worn out BFG AT's (quiet) to GY wrangler LT245/75R16 MT/R's (noisey) if they had studs it would be worse. I now feel like I am driving a Jeep. Live with it :D
Don't waste your time with the liners that has nothing to do with big cleated tires.

Without reading all of the posts, my first thought was the tires and the metal studs in the tires possibly rubbing on the liner. Did you get the pinch weld hammered down?

no , there is no contact with the liner at the pinch weld so I let it stock

I know what you mean by big tires are noisy but I had these on my rubicon last winter and there were at least 50% less noisy...so maybe the ''air pocket'' who is created in in the fender liner with big tires is possible...

thanks

i have the same lift and 245 goodyear mt/r's and the road noise is pretty abundant, especially at speeds of 15-30 mph and 50-65 mph.

there is definately road noise with the tires.

hi I finally found what was the problem, I met with our mechanic at work and he told me there is 2 things that cause this,
1st:the tires are winter tires with nails BUT they are not with harmonics blocs he told me, that causing an air draf and noise.
2nd:when putting bigger tires, especialy a tire with bigger blocs (like my winter tire or a mud) the tire come really close to the fender liner , causing air to be squezed between tire and liner and causing air noise like a bad tire....

solutions sor far: I've not tested anything but will try...
-remove liner to see if it changes anything

Can someone with this kind of lift and 245-75-16 tires who have not modified the front skirt liners can tell me honestly if he saw a difference in tires noise when he passes from stock tires to a 245-75-16 and please tell me wich brand of tires...

thanks a lot to all you guys!!
I'm very happy to find out that this is not related to my suspension system, but disapointed that nobody on this forum(to my knokledge) has experienced that or speak of this here...

thanks again,
Rick

Your "mechanic" is feeding you a load of cr@9
every tire ,no matter what size or style, will make some road noise some you can hear and feel and some you will never notice
from what you are being told I could put a 225/75R16 BFG mud and it would/should be no more noisy that the 225/75 ats's that I am running now?
This is not true a more agressive tire will make more noise that a street tire it is a fact of life the reason you did not notice it on the rubi is because there was a lot of other noise
I would think that the removal of the inner liners will make it more noisy because you will not have that layer of dampaning or insulation?

Since Rusty's lift was not any part of the issue, you should change the topic title.

My first thought when I saw the topic was that the Rusty's lift was causing a problem.
