Hey everyone, just as the title says, a couple of newb questions...

First newb question of the day: I've got an '02 Rene with the towing & skid package on it. Do I also need to buy the tranny and TC skid to get everything covered? I'm pretty sure I'm going to need the tranny skid to cover the pan, but was unsure about the TC skid. Any other skids other than what is already on there that I need?

Secondly: I've got CommandTrac, and it says that 4wd is meant only for slippery conditions. What are you guys running in while wheeling the KJ. I'm assuming 4hi, and then 4lo if needed, but I'm concerned about the front diff without the collar and you know how assuming goes!

Thanks for all the help!

If I'm not mistaken ... the '02 Rene's w/the skid plate package came with a front suspension/engine skid plate, a transfer case skid plate, and the gas tank skid plate. This leaves you only needing the transmission skid plate. However, the best way to double check this is to climb under your KJ and take a look. Also, when wheeling, 4HI for dirt roads, mud, and easy obstacles; 4LO for rocks and anything else that would require more torque like steep climbs. Please don't take my word as gospel though, ask around for more input and go wheeling to try things out (NO WHEELING ALONE).

First: if you have the skid plate package, you should have all the skids except the tranny skid..

second: I usually use 4low for everything unless I want to go a bit faster. 4hi is good for mud since you usually need alittle more speed in that crap. I do not like mud.
