I drove down to San Luis Obispo last weekend to drive the dunes and the beach and met a really nice guy driving a built XJ. It was red with a big lift and what looked like 35'' superswamper TSL. A very serious looking rig.

We had passed going opposite directions earlier in the day, both checking out our jeeps and waved. Later while I was parked he came by to check out the KJ. Said he had never seen a lifted Liberty before and really liked the way it looked. He said that he thought the KJ was a better vehicle and would have went with one if he had it to do all over again. He didn't care for how small the XJ's back seat and rear doors were and had actually taken the rear seats out due to them being practically unusable.

I'm not baggin' on XJ's at all and think they're great jeeps and would like to have one. I think maybe he was just frustrated with having such large tires and lift on what's probably his daily driver.

Anyway, just wanted to relay a little positive feedback, since most of the time all we get from our Jeep brethren who own other models tends to be negative (think jp magazine). I would have liked to have talked to him a bit longer but I had some other people with me.

P.S. Driving on the beach was awesome. KJ represented itself in fine style. Guys in full size trucks were babying them across a creek flowing out to see (maybe just didn't want the salt water rusting thier trucks) but the KJ bounces over everything.

It's a jeep thing, my levels of perception are sufficient to ascertain your implication

Thats great to hear and it sounds like you really enjoyed yourself, thats what jeepen's all about. I never met a jeep I didn't like, even the compass, just have no desire to wheel one ha ha. As the next generation of liberty's come out, people will start gaining a fondness for the ole kj, thats how it works in the jeep world. It has to get a little age and pay it's due's to be accepted, things will get better for us, maybe even at jp, "NOT".
